Good Company II

Yesterday it was George Will, and today it’s Daniel Henninger:

The odds of ObamaCare’s eventual self-collapse look stronger every day. After that happens, then what? Try truly universal health insurance? Not bloody likely if the aghast U.S. public has any say.

Enacted with zero Republican votes, ObamaCare is the solely owned creation of the Democrats’ belief in their own limitless powers to fashion goodness out of legislated entitlements. Sometimes social experiments go wrong. In the end, the only one who supported Frankenstein was Dr. Frankenstein. The Democrats in 2014 should by all means be asked relentlessly to defend their monster.

Republicans and conservatives, instead of tilting at the defunding windmill, should be working now to present the American people with the policy ideas that will emerge inevitably when ObamaCare’s declines.

But instead they’re spending their time and energy on a defund effort which will go nowhere, and getting their own fingerprints all over the Democrats’ crime scene.

Let. It. Burn.

Here's the thing though--Universal health insurance will most likely be the next effort by the Dems. They *want* this collapse. Look at the sh*t sandwich we got fed in '08 after the financial crisis.

"Never let a crisis go to waste." I seem to recall that being the rallying cry of certain current members of a white mansion down in DC. And this is going to be a crisis of epic proportions. They are manufacturing it exactly to spec.

Once the sh*t hits the fan, and the economy starts to really implode, and our health insurance industry basically melts down, they'll rush emergency legislation through Congress that mandates universal coverage, because that will be the only way to "right the ship". Along with another trillion or so in "stimulus" funds, of course.

And anyone who argues against it will be pilloried to within an inch of their lives. Political hay will be reaped by the Left, and the Right will be absolutely crucified by the Press.

Mark my words. This is going *exactly* as planned.

I agree. Let it burn. But just know that, by the Left's playbook, this isn't a bug--it's a feature.

I expect this cow pie was designed from the beginning to fail. So the new teflon don could ride in on his (crap-colored, redefined by his ever lovin media whores as) white horse and save us all with single payer.

Ann Coulter gets this on the nose: "Let Obamacare fall on its own! Like Soc Sec, public schools, the EPA and all that other leftist crap that always just withers away!" https://twitter.com/AnnCoulter/status/383624881213935616

For all their flaws the public schools, Social Security, and the EPA delivered real improvements in most people's lives for a long time before their problems began to outweigh their benefits. Obamacare won't even manage that.

If this steaming log of an entitlement sticks around more than a few years after it fails (meaning a few years from next Tuesday), then it'll be proof positive that there's no hope for working within the system.
