While Microsoft tries to bribe schools into buying remainder-bin Surface RTs, Apple just scored a $30 million deal to sell iPads to the Los Angeles Unified School District.

I’m sure Apple offered a nice educational discount — but nowhere near Microsoft’s flop-sweat price of $199.

Mind you, these soon to be obsolete tablet (2-3 years max) are paid for with a 30 year bond offering that the children will pay for in the future. And you wonder why City of Los Angeles is bankrupt?

I think that Apple should coerce California into buying enough Apply products so that Apple's *profits* on said sales overshadow any California taxes by a, oh, let's say 3-1 margin.
