At the very least, once again, it appears that the vice president (who had NO Constitutional role to play) thwarted the ability of Congress (which DOES have a Constitutional role) to do it's duty. No one who believes in limiting the power of the government should find this at all satisfactory. Unfortunately the bulk of America's conservatives have completely lost the ability to think or remember first principles, leading to a "conservative" goverment that busted the budget, waged war recklessly and incomeptently and showed an utter disregard for the law, checks and balances or honor. As usual, substituting shallow analysis and a quip for serious consideration of the issues involved.
