See, Janus made the claim that you could tell Obama’s joke was absurd because people laughed. If jokes can only be funny when they are absurd, then Bush’s joke about having the support of the rich must have been absurd too. Ah! A contradiction. For ideologues like Janus, and probably simpletons like Veeshir, recognize that the Bush joke was funny because it was true. And if a joke can be both funny and true, Obama’s line about being in bed with the media can be both funny and true.

I didn’t compare Obama to Bush as a defense, I did it as an illustration. Let me know if this is still too complicated for you, and I’ll see if I can’t whip up something with hand puppets and stick figure drawings that might be more your speed.
