Ralph Peters on John Kerry and the “missing” explosives in Iraq:
Sen. Kerry knows this is a bogus issue. And he doesn’t care. He’s willing to accuse our troops of negligence and incompetence to further his political career. Of course, he did that once before.
Read the rest here.

In 2000, Americans displayed their disdain for candidates who would run over their mother with a car to win an election. Kerry will do no better–in fact, he will fare worse than Gore did.
Just one big happy, dishonest, disreputable family
Once again, Captain’s Quarters, turns illogic into reason in the missing weapons story by rightly asking the question – why were the weapons there in the first place?
Kerry didn’t accuse the troops of incompetence. The troops followed their orders to the letter. Kerry accused the people who planned the war — the Bush Administration — of botching the planning. Whether you agree with that or not, surely you can tell the difference. Right?
So Kerry is willing to accuse our troops of negilgence and incompetence?
From the October 28 edition of NBC’s Today-
Giulani: And no matter how much you try to blame it on the president, the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn’t they search carefully enough?
Um, well, since the troops seem to have been given the order to drive to Baghdad, and not secure the WMD site at AlQuQuaa, what should they have done?
And as far as that crap that the Russians spirited 300 tons of high-grade boom boom goes, please look at the film from a humble embedded reporter:

Rumsfeld was wrong. Bush was wrong. Iraq was wrong. Who do you as a citizen hold responsible?
I guess bogus issue is in the eye of the beholder. I find our general negligance in Iraq a source of continued fury and frustration. When the Administration was being warned about things like these munitions and nuclear materials elsewhere and did nothing about them, how can you not hold them accountable? How can we be “safer” when those weapons are likely poised to come back upon our heads?
I guess I vented my rant already here: http://justbetweenstrangers.blogspot.com/2004/10/remind-me-why-were-safer-with-bush.html and it didn’t take Kerry to make me care!
If you think that the 3rd ID and 101st Air Mobile Division troops watching the roads wouldn’t notice 380 tons of material being moved by civilian looters, then yes you are accusing them of incompetence. Are you aware of how many semi-trucks that would take to haul away?
As for the footage, I can’t see anything in the stills from it that says what’s in the boxes. Also, perhaps someone could enlighten us as to how powdered RDX is stored, exactly? The neatly-stacked shallow wooden boxes don’t look like something you’d store powdered materials in.
And, as for the footage, please tell me where the 380 tons are located. All I see are a few crates in a largely empty room.
Democrats totally believe Bush screwed up. Republicans totally believe there was no possible way it could have been a Bush screw up.
Who’s willing to stop making excuses for their side, and try to put bias aside in evaluating the accuracy of some of the claims out there?
“Are you aware of how many semi-trucks that would take to haul away?”
Well, 25 tons is not an unreasonable figure per truck——so we get——15 trucks.
Next excuse?
