More or less agree with Sandy. If we stay modestly engaged and supportive of countries surrounding China, the Chinese will have a lot more to lose than gain by challenging Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Russia, and Phillipines. All of these can be leveraged into an effective, motivated, de facto alliance with us. That is given a reasonably competent State dept, free trade, and our willingness to put our Navy and Air Force to good use and not be chintzy with the arms sales. Of course that also means calling the Chinese bluff on commercial ties with them and paying no attention to the usual suspects at State and in our media. Kind of like Saudi Arabia only bigger, longer term, and not quite as evil.
What’s a country to do w/lots of young men and no women?
Put them in the army to keep them occupied.
However, they, too, have an islamism problem and they haven’t been dealing w/it very well, either.
And I’d bet their economy is built on a house of cards.
We’re probably going to have to take the caps off of Japan and hope for the best that they, Korea, etc., can contain em.
