		<description>Dr. Hansen,

I am afraid that your words of wisdom in regards to the defeatist Democrats and the 17 RINOs are doomed to fall on deaf ears.

It is all too obvious to me that the current Congress and Senate are dooming this country to failure.

I applaud your efforts and wish you much success.

		<description>You are right on target. Why jump from a bridge when one can die in manner that guarantees Paradise and the esteem of your society? For that matter, does not history suggest that Victory tends to favor a people of Faith versus a faithless generation?

May I add that Jeferson&#039;s Embargo encouraged the English to dismiss American complaints that led to the War of 1812, just as the anti-war campaign by the Democrats in 1916 encouraged the militarsts in Germany.

		<description>The Democrats&#039; rush to announce their plans for all the world (and our enemies) to hear reminds me of an old Jay Leno quip: &quot;The US is the only country that advertises its military plans in advance, but keeps its TV premiers a state secret.&quot;

		<description>It&#039;s hard to get a handle on VDH&#039;s novel. Historical novels require the reader&#039;s immersion in the world of the characters. Looking forward to it though, if only for the historical accuracy and precision.

I did have two questions about the novel. VDH has said on a number of occasions that his philological training required that he only be allowed to express an idea about the ancient world if an ancient word existed for it. For instance, if you wanted to say that a form of democracy existed in Greece in 6 B.C., what word did Greeks in 6 B.C. use for it? If the word didn’t exist back then, you couldn’t use a modern equivalent. Is he writing his novel in this way?

And since he is intimately familiar with the patterns and rules of Greek drama, will his novel reflect the ancient dramatic forms in a strict manner? My college class on ancient Greek drama is fast fading from memory, so perhaps another reader can refresh our memory on it.
