You took the words out of my mouth Roy; if Charles had the courage of his convictions, he’d strap on an ammo vest and buy a one-way ticket to Iraq or Afghanistan to fight against those who protect his liberty, but he won’t, because he is like the rest of his ilk – a coward at heart who can only attack those who won’t strike back. He’ll probably be out breaking windows after the dhimmicrats lose.

Well said, well done. The formerly reverend Haggard is indeed as sorry an individual as the former candidate Kerry. I feel the same type of pity for them both, but can’t help feeling they made their own beds, yada, yada, yada.

Its their famillies, friends and associates who seem to be left turning in the wind.

Throwing stones when you live in a glass house isn’t the best way to go. After his last outburst, perhaps John Kerry should begin tempering his accusations of cowardice toward everyone without an “illustrious combat record” such as his. When he begins a sentence with “As a combat veteran,” it immediately makes a person hark back to the many slanders he perpetrated on military folks. God, what a detestable individual.

Without sounding preachy, may I suggest readings from Rabbi Joseph Soloveitchick(available on Amazon) who speaks to many of the philosophical/moral questions that arise from your comments today. He addresses the Jewish Halachic(law) & world perspective of man’s quest for sanctity & dignity as he struggles to triumph over his internal “yetser ha’rah,” evil voice, to follow his “yetser ha’tov,” good voice. With man’s own initiative & free-will, he can challenge fate to creatively attempt to define his destiny & elevate & ennoble his depth personality. (Hence the Minster’s “dark side,” as you say, is no excuse for his weakness bc/ he has the free will to suppress it.)

As for the limits of defining deviancy downward when you write about legal tolerance for the equivalent of man-boy clubs etc., Soloveitchick further explains that the universal Noahide laws & the Ten Commandments exist to prevent the disintegration of society. G-d formulates & legislates these moral laws instead of relying on the moral relativism of complex man, who will surely chip-away at the fringes of these laws, leaning toward a free-for-all descent of society’s moral foundations & consequential destruction…i.e. at the extreme, for Hitler, even murder was reasoned acceptable.

What a terrifically well written piece until the end. Clearly you’ve missed the ultimate irony and nemesis of the chicken hawk president who has a war on his hand, that is coming home to roost. And yes I do think someone who took a roller coaster ride in a jet can be a coward.
