The Obama Department of Agriculture has pulled the radio”novelas” that urged Spanish-speakers to wise up and get on the dole. (“In one of these, an individual tries to convince a friend to enroll in food stamps even though that friend declares: ‘I don’t need anyone’s help. My husband earns enough to take care of us,” says GOP Sen. Jeff Sessions, describing the novelas. “The first individual replies back: ‘When are you going to learn?’”)
Why is the USDA’s retreat significant? Because it shows the administration is sensitive, in an election year, to being perceived as dismissive of the work ethic. Like a prize fighter who winces when you hit him in a sore spot, the Obamaites have revealed their weakness. If the Republicans’ have any strategic sense they will now hit that sore spot again by making a big fuss about the Health and Human Service regulations that renege on the work requirements imposed on welfare recipients by the 1996 welfare reform law (and its successors). If Romney, Boehner and McConnell can’t frame these regs as part (along with the food stamp push) of Obama’s cavalier disregard for the value of work–in embarrassing contradiction to the image he portrayed in 2008–they should really retire to Austria with Denise Rich. …

First, the requirement to work is in the Bible, and the reason thereof makes perfect sense to me. If the GOP can’t gracefully make the case, I don’t want to here any more Bible-talk. Period. Especially in regards to the strangers amongst us (which have been met, incidentally, even if the “strangers” get deported. Deportation is not a pogrom…)
Second, as I would not be confiscated, so will I not be a confiscator. There is a tremendous difference between letting people die and propping them up to the good life when their own efforts, or the effortsoftheir local community and state, cannot do so. There are and should be moral limits on what you take from people, and I personally think 25% is it. Total. All taxes together. After all, someone above Obama’s pay grade only asked for 10%. 25% is not chump-change.
Thus, if Democrats want to waste limited resources on non-critical needs, then they should do so with the understanding that those resources will not be replaced. For many different reasons.
I tell my husband daily, We need to be able to think the way the liberals think so that we can get ahead of this. First we are being distracted by the Bain story and being put on the defense. MORE important is why the gutting of a Clinton reform ? why only the worksearch part of it? I think If the recipients of welfare checks no longer have to report they are seeking work guess what happens to the unemployment numbers???? they go down and that makes Obumbum look good right before the election. If we can’t start figuring him out, (meaning mistrust everything he does) then we are on the hook by the time we figure out what the bait is.
Liberals are a suicide cult and traitors. What Joe Stalin PC commie-racist put that ad together?
