The Wendy’s Twitter account repeated the “we proudly serve ALL customers” line (with capitals) dozens of times in its Twitter replies. See, they totally aren’t haters and stuff. Of course, neither is Chick-fil-A, as sane, and able to read, Twitter users were quick to point out.

You are misinformed. On August 1, 2012, Jim Furmen who owns 86 Wendy’s franchises in North Carolina posted the following at all 86 franchise windows:
“WE STAND WITH CHICK-FIL-A”

Ah, but Carmelita, the whole story is that the corporate office, when they caught wind of it, ordered those franchises to remove the signs; then some twit at corporate tweeted Twitchy’s quote. They backed off the tweet implication about an hour later, tweeting a rather lame bit about how Chick-Fil-A also serves all customers, but the whole thing came across as trying to fix accidentally saying what they really thought. Breitbart has the whole story: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/08/01/Wendy-s-Stumbles-into-Chick-fil-A-Controversy
Nothing against Wendy’s, without a doubt one of the better class ‘fast food’ joints. I think Dave Thomas was a great leader and a kind caring man. He was most unfortunately a man who enjoyed fully the empire he created, even to the point that it was eventually responsible for his early demise. A not too distant neighbor, he regularly (at least once daily) popped into his favorite locations for the latest promotion special, the Happiest Heart Attack plate of the day.
