Under the bill, a wide range of identification would be acceptable this fall — including student IDs — but in later elections, only driver’s licenses, state-issued non-driver’s identification cards, passports or military IDs would be allowed. Those who don’t have photo identification would sign an affidavit and be photographed by an election official.
Lynch says he would have been OK with a bill that stuck with allowing many types of IDs to be used, but the final version is far more restrictive than necessary.
Supporters say the requirements would minimize the potential for fraud. Lynch says the affidavit provision would cause confusion and slow the voting process.
I never realized the KKK had such a huge base of operations in New Hampshire to cause the governor to think there was some kind of disenfranchisement threat.
I’m in favor of picture ID for voter verification. What’s the big deal? A picture ID is needed for many other purposes in this society. If you plan to vote, you should be able to organize one for yourself. Conservatives who favor picture ID are often accused of trying to disenfranchise people. Not the case. I think they are interested in preserving the integrity of the election process. That said, vote-by-mail is also ripe for fraud, in my opinion.
Let the vote fraud continue… Ever notice that all these people and entities that get busted for vote fraud and suppression are all left/democrat? It’s no wonder these thugs don’t want voter photo ID, it’d suppress their vote fraud. And when did it become raaaaaaacist to ask for photo ID, but ONLY if you happen to be voting, not if you’re attending any kind of democrat event or anything, because that’s different…please, does anyone actually believe this tripe? Pathetic! Note to left, this IS the 21st century, there is only one man I’ve ever heard of who doesn’t have an photo ID, and he’s famous for it, because everyone nowadays has to have photo ID to even live! I simply lack the words to describe such numbing mindlessness emanating from today’s “progressives”.
