According to the HBO host, Republicans have apparently discovered poor blacks don’t drive, and that they take the bus. Therefore, they don’t need a picture ID and picking up on that, in his estimation, is how the GOP can succeed in obstructing the black vote.
“So it’s crazy — but obviously Republicans, because they love the country and because the Constitution, they ask themselves what is that thing that maybe black people can’t get to? What do we have that they don’t have? Well, they take the bus because they’re poor. So they don’t have a car. They don’t need a picture ID. You know, Tagg Romney doesn’t have this problem. He has a picture ID.”

Many, many years ago when I was penniless, jobless, homeless, and pregnant, I needed photo ID to get any kind of public assistance.
In college, I needed photo ID to register for classes.
When applying for a job, I always needed a photo ID to fulfill the requirements of an I-9.
In all those cases, I was poor or penniless. I managed to get myself to these places. I clearly remember selling plasma to get the little bit of cash I needed to get my birth certificate and a state ID card. It CAN be done, no matter how broke you are. Can’t sell plasma? Mow a lawn, collect recyclables, or just go beg at a church or the Salvation Army. Someone will help you fund that $10 or less, and they’ll probably help you get a ride down there too. At churches and the Salvation Army, they’ll even offer you other assistance to get your life in order.
How the hell do you survive in America without some form of picture ID?
IT is not a matter of Photo ID, it is & has been the rights of Dems to perform VOTER Fraud – ACORN come to mind?? Voter fraud was even worse with LBJ – stories of voter boxes floating down the river in Chicago were TRUE – Team Obama wants to prerve histoy and do the same
Not only does Maher have to believe the stereotype that blacks are too poor to drive cars–he also has to believe that they’re too stupid to go out and get an ID when they find out they need one to vote.

Hey! I am poor. I do not drive. I do not have a drivers liscense. I DO have an ID card though. BTW– I am an All-American mutt, mostly of European extraction.
I had to produce a photo ID to pick up an item I purchased online and had shipped to the nearest Walmart. And what store do the deranged lefties chide as being a magnet for undesirables and poor-os? Walmart. If Walmart requires an ID, why can’t the ballot box?

Bill Maher talks tough to the camera with his hatred of the culture that made him rich (although as the POTUS assures us, Bill didn’t do that), but he is the same sort of phony poppinjay that litters the product stream out of Hollywood, a community of drug addicts, alcoholics, and baby daddies to a far higher degree than the general population. And yet Maher and the rest of Hollywood’s fake political “analysts” deign to tell the rest of us how to live and who to vote for, because after all, they work in front of a camera and lived lives of gluttenous materialism, so therefore they know best. The real crime comes when we listen to them. I’d sooner go to a kindergarten class for help in balancing my checking account. Not only is Maher a stinking racist on this issue — actually spreading the lie that somehow African American people are too dumb to get their hands on picture I.D. — he has the gall to p0retend he has raised himself above the rest of us with his self-serving and artificial “wisdom.”
