Top Dem on House Foreign Affairs Committee Won't Vote for Iran Deal

UPDATE: Schumer is probably out too.

But The Lightbringer gave a SPEECH.

U.S. Representative Eliot Engel, the top Democrat on the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, said on Thursday he has decided to vote to reject the nuclear deal with Iran.

In a statement obtained by Reuters, Engel said he had raised questions about his concerns about the deal during the negotiations and since the deal was announced on July 1.

“The answers I’ve received simply don’t convince me that this deal will keep a nuclear weapon out of Iran’s hands, and may in fact strengthen Iran’s position as a destabilizing and destructive influence across the Middle East,” Engel said.

It may not mean much in the end, as the rallying power of the Democrat hive mind is strong when it comes time to vote, but it is certainly indicative of just how awful this deal is.

Much more interesting is that the Obama smoke and mirrors trick of giving a speech whenever he was doing something even he was bright enough to know was unpopular seems to have lost its power. In the past, no congressional Democrats dared question The Idiot King after a speech, let alone completely defect on the issue. Even the press wasn’t doing its usual girl-on-her-first-prom-date swoon after this speech.

John Kerry was unavailable for comment, as his wife was in dire need of a foot massage.
