Bill Banning Abortion After 20 Weeks Passed by Ohio Senate

Via Reuters:

The Ohio Senate passed a bill on Wednesday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of gestation, following the passage of a similar ban by the Wisconsin Senate this month.

The legislation, which passed 23-9, contains a narrow exception for medical emergencies, but not for rape or incest. It would now go to the House, which, like the Senate, is dominated by Republicans.

It is quite sad that we have to consider a ban after twenty weeks a “victory” but it’s a start. This will no doubt bring cries about “Draconian” laws from NARAL and its ilk. Perhaps we should introduce them to Europe, where waiting periods are the law and many countries don’t allow abortions after twelve weeks.

Whether the progressive damage to America can be mostly undone remains to be seen, but it would be nice if we were able to stop the psychotic pro-abortion lobbyists who view any restrictions whatsoever as “extreme.” These are people who are never satisfied and will one day probably be fighting for retroactive abortions until the child is kindergarten age.
