Dumb: KC IRS Employee Steals Co-Worker's Credit Card, Goes on Shopping Spree While on the Clock

A crooked IRS employee who works in the Kansas City Internal Revenue Service campus could be a leading contender for the Darwin Award according to taxpayer Anjeanette Payne: “Dumb, that is really dumb. She should be on world’s dumbest criminals.”

What did Weisha Jackson do that had Kansas Citians shaking their heads in disgust when the news of her nefarious exploits broke on Tax Day?

The victim, who didn’t want to be identified, said Jackson initially stole cash from his wallet while he was on break, but eventually she went for his credit card, and that’s when her crime spree hit a snag. She apparently booked a vacation and went on a shopping spree while on the clock at the IRS — with her fellow employee’s stolen credit card information.

Via KCTV 5:

According to court documents, Jackson used that stolen credit card using an IRS IP address to book more than $1,600 in Expedia flights in her name and pay her KCP&L and T-Mobile bills. That made it easy for investigators to track the theft.

Video surveillance shows Jackson used the stolen card to buy $299.75 from Foot Locker at Oak Park Mall.

Security cameras showed she also tried to use the card at Victoria’s Secret, but it was declined.

A spokesperson for the Kansas City IRS would not tell KCTV 5  whether or not  Jackson was still employed at their facility because there was still an ongoing investigation.
