The White House Correspondence Association has announced the featured entertainer at their annual festival of self-love will be Cecily Strong of Saturday Night Live.
“Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent,” WHCD President Christi Parsons emailed.
SNL’s rating have been in the dumps lately, so it doesn’t seem like the public agrees with Mr. Parson.
Strong has a special connection to the Washington D.C. press. “Her father, Bill Strong, is a legendary former Associated Press bureau chief at the Illinois Statehouse.”
Apparently, it’s important that she’s a woman, as the association president made a point of saying Strong will be the fourth woman to entertain the group.
Mark your calendars: the event is scheduled for April 25, 2015.
