A preview of what’s to come here?

The Vancouver school board has voted to enact new guidelines and practices to support transgender students in schools.

Amid a deeply divided audience, trustees voted 7-2 Monday night in favour of the controversial amendments, with former NPA trustees Ken Denike and Sophia Woo in opposition.

“I’m extremely disappointed,” Denike told reporters after the vote, saying the process was compromised by a lack of consultation with some parents, particularly those who did not speak English.

Denike stressed his opposition did not stem from homophobia, noting he and Woo supported the original 2004 policy supporting LGBTQ students in schools.

The new amendments laid out details on how schools can improve inclusivity for students who identify as gender-variant or transgender.

The policy allows transgender students to be addressed by the name that corresponds with their own gender identity and allows them to use washrooms of their choice or, in sex-segregated activities such as physical education, to be included in the group in which they identify.

There is a vast difference between being tolerant and barking, “Inclusive!” as part of some ill-informed indoctrination. Strangely enough, I talked about this earlier today before I even read about this as a guest on this week’s Trifecta on PJTV. You will have to watch to see my less-than-charitable response to see how I would have handled this situation had it ever come up when my daughter was in grade school.

Canada has become a country that lives in perpetual fear of its Thought Police, even more so than what we are experiencing here.

But that fear WILL migrate south soon if we don’t push back.

Bottom line on this one: your school-aged children shouldn’t have to literally be exposed to the genitalia of the opposite sex in a school bathroom. How many kids are going to feel extremely uncomfortable about going to the restroom because the PC idiots have an overwhelming lust to pretend the smallest fractions of society are mainstream?

And what are the odds that this overreaching accommodation will actually create backlash, as so many misbegotten feel-good policies like this do?

Well, at the risk of asking a stupid question, What's the point of male primates using the bathroom to pee, also known as draining the main vein, when I can just lower my zipper and raise my leg and pee in public on the fire hydrants like the dogs do? Come to think of it, there's a whole lot of legs I'd like to hump and pee on in public. I think I'll free associate on that thought some more just for the fun of it.

If parents are going to sit back and take this insanity, they deserve what they get. But they're probably too far gone (deadened consciences) to have any remorse or guilt for the terror and abuse to which they are willfully subjecting their children.

COme next school board elections there WILL be a level of backlash undreampt of by these twisted board members. And this issue WILL be re-addressed as soon as possible after such elections.... if indeed the people of this district do not begin recall proceedings immediately. The range of unintended consequences these fools failed to consider is wide..... not to mention the moral corruption that it will lead to. Vancouver is a relatively conservative city when it comes to community values and standards. I know people whith school children in this district's schools. They are FURIOUS and are already taking action.

We need to all put this Gay mess in proper perspective. 5% of Americans are gay. Starting with the muslims, I can think of at least another 100 things America should be more focused on.
Think realty for a moment about bathrooms, in 63 years of visiting mens bathrooms, I have never seen another man walking around naked or with his penis hanging out. Women do not walk around nude in THEIR bathrooms.
In men's rooms, you can see men's backs while standing at urinals, In women's BRs you can see a woman's feet when she using a stall toilet. There is nothing pornographic about seeing a man's back, or seeing a woman's feet. If bathrooms had a single trench in the middle of the floor and men had to stand naked to urinate and women had to squat naked over the center trench THEN those private parts on both genders would be visible

you failed to comprehend what was plainly written in the board's decision... that confused children will be allowed to participate with their gender of choice in gender-segregated activites, specifically mentioning sports. In case you were unaware of the full implication of that section of their decision, that means a male, with standard issue appendages, will be able to decide to join the girls' track team, thus affording access to the locker, dressing, and shower facilities.... WITH the girls who comprise the rest of the team. And yes, the schools in that district have open showers where all team members shower together, in full view of each other. I will leave the rest of the details to your imagination. I will also state that this will have unintended consequences for such teams... many of their members will flat out refuse to be forced to endure such exposure as a condition of running track, Bball, tennis, swimming, etc. And many of those who will refuse, thus leaving the team, are amongst the most dedicated and best players. And that does not begin to address the issues relating to having a BOY on a girl's sports team when competing with other schools... at their facilities. Or bringing another school's team to the Vancouver school facility and thus forcing their team members to endure the exposure to the male who thinks he's not...... again, in sharing the same open shower facilities and similar things.

Why are you pretending they are either confused or wrong?

FIVE percent? Last accurate numbers I read have it at close to two percent. Even so, how can one in twenty FORCE the rest to bow to their idol and worship it? There IS a day of reckoning coming. Perversion WILL NOT become the norm.

Why in the world have schools become so sexualized? Schools should not have to deal with this, leave it at home. Students can attend school just fine without being confronted with sex all the time. Education has been dumbed down enough.

Why is this an example of any sexualization of schools? There have been boys and girls bathrooms for quite a long while?

Dear Principal: Is it true that a 13 year old boy who claims to be transgender will use the same rest room as my 8 year old daughter?

"your school-aged children shouldn’t have to literally be exposed to the genitalia of the opposite sex in a school bathroom"

That and the expense of bathrooms for 1/300th of the population is why it should be sufficient for students with that birth defect to use the faculty washroom.

for some transgendered I am sure the tendency is genetic and a defect.

If you have gene variant that make your muscles weak we call it a defect.

If you have a gene variant as it relates to sex, we should call it a defect, but they call it "a Gift".

Treatment is not lobotomies, 1950s shock therapy etc. It is improved gene therapy.

dream on... the ONLY way to tell biologically is to take a sample and identify the specific chromosomes an individual has...... how many X and/or Y chromosomes. End of story. But not very PC.

That only tells you what chromosomes you have. That does not neccessarily determine either what is between your ears, or legs.

Pretending it is definitive is ignorance or bigotry.

Except to qualify for the diagnosis, they'll have to lie their butt off for several consecutive months at least, change their name by which they are addresed to one of the opposite gender, and crossdress in and out of school--all the time, not jut in school.

What you are sensationalizing is a not a problem in the real world.

You are totally wrong. Allowing a man who thinks he's a woman or pretends to think he's a woman to use women's restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities that are supposed to be just for women is going to cause a lot of problems. I do not want this ever. He has rights. I do not?

When the PC police cast bathrooms as mere 'washrooms' it neutralizes the setting. Why can't straights even share a sink in which they wash their hands with these precious little trannies and homos?

How exclusionary are you, Mr. Kruiser?

They're WASHROOMS, for Pete's sake.

Please improve your reading comprehensin skills, then reread the article. It specifically stated that when it comes to gender-segregated activities, such as physical education, any individual may participate in the group activities with which "it" feels aligned. Translate, as your comprehension seems to be lacking: a male (that is, with appropriate sexual apendage) may "identify" with the female baskteball or volleyball or track team, and thus participate in ALL activites the other team members share... INCLUDING the use, together as a group, of the showers, locker rooms, dressing rooms, etc. No, we are NOT talking about a room with nothing but sinks in which to wash one's hands. We are talking about facilities where EVERYTHING is exposed in a group setting. I know people in that school district who are more than VERY upset about this, and WILL take action. My guess is that the first time a boy decides he'll be showering with the girl's volleyball team there will be an "incident". I read of one "incident" out east where a male entered the girls' bathroom in a rather confused state of identiy and was roughed up and forcibly expelled from the place. Soon enough one such will have HIS clothing removed and taken out of the room, he being left in the altogether, alone in the "wrong" room. And it will serve him right.
