The late Clayton Lockett was sentenced to death for the brutal murder of Stephanie Nieman. The sentence was carried out Tuesday by the state of Oklahoma. The state used a new formula for its lethal injection, and it did not work entirely according to plan. Lockett ended up taking a little while before succumbing.

MSNBC had Lockett’s step-mother, Ladonna Hollins, on for an interview Wednesday night. Together, she and network host Ari Melber floated a conspiracy theory that Lockett was “tortured to death.”

Which, even if true, would be a sort of justice given how Lockett shot Stephanie in cold blood and then buried her alive.

Neither the host nor the guest mention Stephanie Nieman at all.

As awful as the above segment is, it may only be the runner-up for MSNBC’s worst moment of the day, as you’ll see on the next page.

Don't know what all the fuss is about. Lockett died the way most people die, gasping for breath, and realizing he was in the last moments of his life. At least he wasn't trying to breathe dirt, like his victim.

I'm a big advocate of the firing squad for executions. There is absolutely no doubt about the effectiveness of a .30 caliber slug to the heart. The ritual is dignified, quick, and the process entails little pain for the subject. It's less messy than the guillotine, and probably cheaper than lethal injection.

Animal Farm misinterpreted???

Orwell was a very good writer. He did NOT leave much to the imagination about who was being lampooned in his work.

If the liberal liars at MSNBC want to envision themselves as the "righteous" pigs that rise from the ruin of capitalism to make things better for all those animals who are "not quite as equal," I'm fine with that. They can be the deceitful, manipulative pigs from the farm. They can even pretend that the characters are really intended to be positive ones.

But pigs on a farm are only good for one thing. They do not provide milk. They do not lay eggs. They do not guard the house. They do not provide labor or transportation for the farmer. They are good for one thing only.

When the reckoning day comes, you'll recognize me. I'll be the one at the big iron kettle, sprinkling the spices into the scrapple.

Because for the traitor class, Animal Farm is a primer, not a cautionary tale.

Global warming hoax IS a One World Socialist wealth tax. Obamacare IS a wealth tax. The whole crash of banking, mortgage, real estate was an attack on accumulated wealth.

The assault is in full fury. And it is high time we stop sticking our heads in the sand. MSNBC is not an outlier. These are communists saluting the hammer and sickle dismantling our freedoms and punishing the "haves" for "yo 401k and yo daddy's 401k and yo grand daddy's 401k"

Let's stop pretending they have not declared war.

And liberty is being tortured to death...every day.

With all due respect, the fact is we have a dead dude. Was it because of a defective syringe or was it because of someone making a mistake? What difference at this point does it make? Our job is to prevent this from ever happening again! Hilary ... are you there?

I hate lethal injection for executions, as the writer said so many things can go wrong. That is why I like drawn and quartering. 4 vehicles with straps to arms and legs, and they just accelerate and we are left with a dead man.

Simple, quick, and was a great way of doing it in the past.

I don't get it. Every day thousands of pet owners get a large dog humanely euthanized. Seems to me that the same process, scaled up for the body mass of the criminal, would work. Seems to me that veterinarians could administer lethal injection much more competently than law enforcement.

If the problem is administration of the drugs and the need to make killing the criminal both not cruel and not bloody, couldn't we administer an anesthetic gas to put the criminal to sleep and then use electric shock to stop the heart? That removes the need to put in an IV needle correctly, no blood is spilled, and no foreign manufactured drugs are required.

According to a report I heard on the radio, this execution was marked by much incompetence. The IV blew his vein; they did not have a second IV line put in (which would have been prudent in the event of the very thing that happened to the first one). Idiots.

The report I saw this morning said that the IV was in the prisoner's groin. Hard to start two of those -- heck, hard to start one unless the prisoner is sedated.

Hmmmmm. That leads me to believe they could not get an IV started in either arm or lower leg. Under typical protocol, the groin is not the first place to go for IV access.
