Firefox Haz a Sad

It appears it's not been a good weekend at Mozilla.

The chart above shows the feedback coming into Mozilla.  They basically start with a choice between a happy face and a sad face.

A lot of people — over 90 percent today — are picking the sad face.  As you can see, at noon pacific, they’re close to getting as many sad faces as they got over the weekend.

Mozilla's a nonprofit so it won't have a stock trend. This is as close as you get to a "sell" on the corporation.

Non profits depend on grants, donations, and such. If people are dumping their product they are probably not donating. Are there enough LBGT nazis to make up the difference? Also I wouldn't be surprised it their non-profit status doesn't get challenged.

Just a question. Where does Eich go after this? He is certainly talented enough to picked up in a less noticeable position at many tech companies, but is he now 'toxic' enough to be unemployable? He probably doesn't need the work, but still, he's also young to retire.

I didn't give Mozilla any feedback; I simply uninstalled FireFox and Thunderbird. I tried Opera, but it wouldn't allow me to import my bookmarks. I'm now rrunning 'Mathon Cloud' browser and 'eM Client'; both run slick and faster than Mozilla's products, too!

I'd be very curious to know how many fewer installed copies of Firefox and Thunderbird there are today. I figure they must have numbers because both programs update automatically. I think they probably have a count somewhere of how many installed copies of each version are out there so that they can do load-balancing on the servers that are supplying the updates.

If this hits the installed base as hard as it should, heads should start to roll. I hope the Chairman of the Board is first to go. Let her show just how "inclusive" she is by joining Eich in unemployment. Let's hope they fire her for cause so that she can't take a generous severance package with her.

Failing that, I hope the whole damn operation goes belly up. It would be a fitting end for the least tolerant bunch of self-declared tolerant people that has come to light so far.

I would be too. However, Mozilla refuses to respond to that question.

I went to the feedback page just now, and left my feedback. The post-submission page still hits me up for a donation. :-)

Given the revelations over the past few months about NSA snooping, the kryptonite is this:

"Can Mozilla be trusted to do the right thing? Mozilla rolled over for a small bunch of noisy rabble. Will they (or have they) roll over for a Government rabble?"

It brings warm feelings to my heart to read the comments attached to those complaints. If you Google "Mozilla feedback dashboard" you will see them too and see the source of the graphic above. As of right now the April 7 total is higher than the weekend, meaning this effort is still growing. Spread the word!
