First, an EVIL KOCH BROTHER dared to give a hospital the largest donation it ever received. Naturally, the party of tolerance cannot let that stand.

Union leaders, NAACP representatives, and even a Democrat city council member were on hand for a protest at a New York City hospital. What was the object of their scorn? A $100 million donation made to the hospital.

That’s right, a $100 million donation to a local hospital drew the ire of liberals in the city.

Why? Because it came from one half of a pair of billionaire brothers who happen to support conservative and libertarian policies.

And here is a compassionate liberal’s heartfelt opposition to a pending gun bill in Indiana:

cindy

Sweet, tender, for the children Cindy seems to have had her account temporarily suspended by Twitter. I read her timeline earlier today and it was full of classic hive-mind talking points. That’s right, Cindy isn’t really an anomaly over there.

They are hateful, spiteful people who care not one whit for anyone they say they do. They care only about power. And we shouldn’t let them have any.

Mr. Kruiser: Please, oh please, don't call them 'liberals.' It is Orwellian to do so. They are Leftists and misanthropes. (cfbleachers - where are you?)

Difference between a liberal and a conservative:

A liberal loves humanity but hates actual people.

A conservative has a very low opinion of humanity, but there are certain people they actually like.

I'd have a problem if the mullahs of Iran were offering large donations to American organizations -- not to equate the Koch brothers with the mullahs, but just to say that, if you really object to someone, you may even want to reject their donations.
I don't have time to go to protests, though.
On a related thought: the left wants the wealthy to pay huge taxes and give enormous donations -- and they want to eliminate the wealthy. How does that work out?

According to Zombie, Cindy is just reacting to her fear of gang banger gun violence.

I suspect the "worker bees" who actively post on Facebook and contaminate comment threads on some sites are fairly powerless people. They ape the talking points of those in power in the media because they want to be seen as smart and part of the cool set.

H'm. That would seem to apply to me as well, except I'm on conservative and libertarian sites and like to think I'm pretty original.
But powerless, yes, except for my rapier-like keyboard.

> [Marxism is] a theory of power; more specifically, the worship of power.

Interesting. And correct, I think, at least mostly. The central contradiction of Marxism is the belief in materialism combined with the moral indignation toward the unfairness of economic distribution.

If materialism is true, then there are no transcendent truths.

If there are no transcendent truths, there can be no transcendent moral code, hence there is no objective right v. wrong, but only opinion.

But when a Marxist rails against economic injustice, does he sound like he thinks he's expressing a personal opinion? Or more like he's invoking the authority of a higher moral code?

From a materialist perspective, the economic distribution is not right or wrong, it just is what it is. One can hate it, but one cannot say it is wrong in any authoritative way. Fairness is not objective; it is just a word that we use to get what we want.

And when leftists actually acquire power, they seem to understand this very well, since they get all the money and power and everyone else gets to starve. We call that a 'win-win'.

A shining example of your observation is in this video. (You get bonus points if you don't scream at this woman.)

I don't think that's precisely true. It's not that Conservatives have a low opinion of humanity, it's just that we have a clear-eyed view of what it is and how it acts.

By way of analogy: I know that, left to his own devices, my dog will crap in the living room. It doesn't make me love him any less.

And likely your dog will at least try to get outside until it's obvious to it that it can't. On the other hand, a progressive dog will just leave you a present and say it's performance art or because it joined the Occupy Living Room movement. No thinking creature soils it's own nest. The exercise is then left to the student as to whether progressives think.

Mary Jo Kopechne.
Juanita Broderick.
Kathleen Willey.
Linda Tripp.
Every person whose raw FBI file was read by Hilary Clinton.
Anyone whose heat was cut off thanks to Al Gore raising their fuel bill.
Anyone harmed by a criminal in a jurisdiction where people protected by armed security guards made sure they couldn't defend themselves.
Anyone harmed by a criminal released because the criminal lawyers in the Maryland State Legislature relaxed the rules to make their jobs easier. (To be fair - do not know if it passed.)

This is what Leftists do. Actual, real, human beings have no value to them. They are high-minded sociopaths.
