Speaking of making things up, the questions about her origins story aren’t going away.

In an interview with The Associated Press, the Democratic state senator from Fort Worth also reiterated her refusal to discuss the volatile end to her second marriage to Jeff Davis, which led to allegations of infidelity and a temporary restraining order against her.

“What I committed to my daughters when I started this journey was that I would not revisit a very difficult time in our life which was that period,” Davis said. “I am not going to revisit that for the purposes of this campaign, not today, not in the future of the campaign. I would just remind you that there are always two sides to every story in a divorce.”

Another nice try, but Davis has made her story a focal point of her campaign. Now that it’s inconvenient, that story is under the bus along with [finish this sentence as you see fit].

Davis tries her hand on tax policy. Texas has no state income tax. Therefore the following is not what anyone should regard as a courageous stand.

Democrats often blame the state’s reliance on volatile and unequal property taxes for the poor performance of Texas students, and some party leaders have called for a state income tax instead. Davis said she, along with all Republican candidates, would oppose such a solution.

“I absolutely believe that if we look at these decades-old corporate tax loopholes we are going to find that there are some that really don’t make sense for us anymore,” Davis said, promising to find funding without damaging economic growth.

So, let’s cut off those undefined “corporate tax loopholes,” but it won’t hurt the strong Texas economy, pinky-swears! That’s coming from someone who still supports Obamacare, complete with “if you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare.” Obamacare itself is hurting the economy. Wendy Davis supports it.

Davis’ campaign is still imploding. She accomplished one thing in her AP interview, though: She has placed her origins story off-limits. To the media, and to her. If she brings it up again, along will come questions about the restraining order, the infidelity, how her education was paid for, the children, all of it.

A couple of more days like the last three and Wendy's liable to be doing a photo op driving a frac truck down a South Texas road and yelling "Drill, Baby, Drill!" out the window of the cab to the reporters and the camera operators.

It's a typical Democrat trick to campaign as a "defender of Second Amendment rights", and then turn around and support the most absurd and ineffective gun control measures once they get elected. That might work in California, or New Jersey, but I doubt there are that many Texans stupid enough to fall for it.

How can she place the story off limits to the media? Does she own them? Can't they just ask all those questions whenever they want? Who does she think she is? Barack Obama?

So her campaign is imploding, say the folks who promised us a Romney victory. What do the polls in Texas say? 40% of that state went for Chocolate Nixon in the last election, and if the blue-state fascists can close that gap at the rate of 1% a year for a decade, it will turn the electoral college blue. California and Texas will prevent a Republican from ever seeing the inside of the Oval Office again.

One party rule in America. That's the end game. Davis may go down in flames, but Battleground Texas will still be there, chipping away. We have no cause for celebration. We have a long hard fight for the future of our civilization on our hands.

Personally, I can't wait.

As with Barack, Wendy has been proven to be a liar and to believe anything she says is proof positive of gullibility.

When all else fails, the Libs go after guns. There is a position in the Cuomo administration for her.

Please, people! Let's not insist on holding a Democrat's feet to the fire regarding truth and integrity. They are Koranesque when they speak:

Bukhari (49:857) - "He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar." Lying is permitted when the end justifies the means.

Can't she afford to get rid of that thing on the side of her face?

it would have been better to say, "can't she afford to get rid of the UGLY thing on the side of her HIDEOUS face"
good of you to point out that it needed some enhancement.

OK, so if we're no longer allowed to use the 's'-word (regardless that it pertains to a part of her life that she, herself put in the public eye), I guess we'll just have to say she is a moron with no sense of what her state is all about.

I laughed yesterday when it was reported that she needs to "tighten her language" about her life story. She's a HARVARD TRAINED LAWYER. Words mean things. Did they stop teaching that at Haaavaard?

What do you mean"Did they stop teaching that at Haaavaard?" That implies they once did.

Well, they did. Look into who founded Harvard and why.

But... that was a looong time ago.

My first thought when she said that: "Wasn't she some sort of trial lawyer?" If she has that much trouble with speaking precisely and clearly, did she win any cases?

At least Hillary's stories are more entertaining. I especially enjoy the one about ducking and dodging sniper fire while running across that airfield in Tuzla, Bosnia. I attribute Hillary's inability to pay attention to her job as Secretary of State to the ongoing PTSD from that harrowing event under fire.

Wendy Davis' story, on the other hand, is quite dreary and banal by comparison. She should work on adding some color and drama, maybe even an action scene ala Hillary. Pretty sure the screenwriters for the latest film version of "The Lone Ranger" are available to punch up Davis' script.

Ya know what? I bet she DOES own a handgun for protection. So does Dianne Feinstein. And I'll also bet she has no real plans to get a CCL, like most Dems she no doubt thinks she is above the law. I hope some Dem has started thinking about a primary challenge, I would love to see this two-trick (first the "first trick," then the abortion) jenny crash and burn at the hnds of her own party.

The capital building allows CCW holders to bypass the grope-a-dope line to get in the building. Most legislators and staffers get a CCW with no intent to ever actually carry (and no small amount of contractors) explicitly for that purpose.

oops indeed--but maybe the Dems could try one of those New Jersey deals--remember that one? The Dems' relationship to the rule of law, as well as to objective truth, is at best tenuous.
