While a madman was still on the loose at the Navy Yard in Washington Monday, President Obama had the gall to suggest, again, that the Second Amendment is somehow to blame. He had the gall to go from there into a tirade against Republicans, again while the madman went about his killing less than two miles away. Does it ever occur to Barack Obama to try being a unifying figure once in a while?

It’s clear from the president’s words and body language Monday that the man has anger issues. He also has judgement issues. Who goes ahead with a nasty, partisan attack while everyone is in shock over a mass killing? Obama needs support from the half the country that he consistently berates on issues like Syria, but his own behavior ensures that that won’t happen. He treats us all like we’re less than worthless, just obstacles to whatever he wants to do. Obama would clear us out of politics and public life like so much unwanted furniture if he could. Who wants to work with a guy who just can’t resist insulting you, all the time, every day, on just about every issue?

Today, we’re learning that Navy Yard killer Aaron Alexis had serious mental health issues. He had paranoia. He had a sleep disorder. He heard voices. The VA had been treating him for months. We can’t hospitalize people like him anymore. We can’t even rescind his security clearance without risking a lawsuit that the taxpayers will have to pay for, and creating yet another divisive moment in American life.

The fact is, all we have are divisive moments anymore. Tragedies used to bring out the best in us, but now they mostly bring out the worst. Yesterday was probably the worst day on social media since the last tragedy. You can always count on some idiot politicizing the tragedy without any facts, and you can always count on people typing out strongly worded insults and rashly constructed policy pronouncements rather than just stopping, thinking, praying, and shutting up for a second.

Alexis was what we used to call “crazy,” but we can no longer use that word. Until a guy kills more than a dozen innocent people, anyway.

In the world of Barack Obama, David Frum and Piers Morgan and their ilk, because one violence-obsessed guy went crazy and went on a rampage against people that he knew would be unarmed, because the federal government demands that they be unarmed, the rest of us all over the country should disarm.

If that makes any sense to you, then I’m sorry, but you might be crazy too.

The man who wants to arm al Qaeda and disarm conservatives is a small, petty, prickly, egomaniac.

The man who ignores gang violence and organized border criminal enterprises, wants to highlight episodic mental defectives that arise in single digits and hide antisocial mass murders that arise in the tens of thousands.

He isn't against guns...in the hands of the right kind of criminal apparently.

Actually that's not true. Several mass murderers predate violent video games, some by decades. The worst school mass killing, for instance, was carried out by Andrew Kehoe in Bath, Michigan, on May 18, 1927. And he didn't use a gun. The Manson family, the UT tower killer, I could go on.

So I'm not "doing their work" for them. At all. Obama is a tyrant who never wants to let a crisis go to waste. I'm calling him and his ilk out.

One could make an argument that violent games train future killers. Both Alexis and Lanza show evidence of that. But cause and effect haven't been established, and with millions of violent game players out there who have never harmed a real person and never will, I'm doubtful that cause and effect is there to be established.

The leftists mania against self-defense is all-encompassing. They feel the same way about ballistic missile defense, remember? We are to be Eloi when confronted by Morlocks.

So he was so upset about 9/11 that he needed to kill people.

Gall, you say? Gall is what runs through his veins. Gall is what would be stocked up in the O.R. if he ever needed surgery. He is safe from vampires until they evolve a way to get nourishment from gall.

President Obama never before had to live with a downside to insulting people. All his life, people have needed him more than he needed them -- and so he said what he felt like saying about people, knowing that he could win them back in a heartbeat if he needed them again.

It would be refreshing and entertaining -- were it not also tragic -- to watch him learn that his words and actions actually do have consequences, and that he can't talk his way out of everything.

For better or for worse, though, he doesn't seem to be learning.

What else would you expect from a President who goes to bed during an attack on a US Consulate and while a US Ambassador and others are being murdered?

Obama doesn't ignore "organized border criminal enterprises". He allowed his Justice Department to sell them arms.

Bryan, while the anti-gun nuts play the regular tunes, even you do their work. It is the violent video games that these killers play for hours that is at fault. Look back and every mass murderer has a history of mental illness AND an obsession with playing violent video games.
I know the anti-gun whackos want to feel good about themselves and, maybe, are looking for a pay day, but erasing the 2nd Amendment won't do as much to prevent the next mass murder as doing background checks on violent video games will.

Look at the recent history of these nut jobs and the common thread is prescribed, brain-affecting drugs, the maladies the drugs supposedly treat and their misuse/misdiagnosis.
Like the overuse of antibiotics, it is plain an simply a serious topic that is not being seriously,,objectively addressed.

No, it isn't.

"erasing the 2nd Amendment won't do as much to prevent the next mass murder as doing background checks on violent video games"

WE MUST DESTROY THE 1st TO SAVE THE 2nd!!!!

You realize there are millions -- tens of millions -- of people who play the same games and never harm anyone, right?

If Obama and Trayvon Martin had a son, he would look just like Aaron Alexis. Coincidentally, if Obama and Aaron Alexis had a son, he would look just like Trayvon Martin, AND, if Trayvon Martin and Aaron Alexis had a son, he would look like Obama. I think that covers all the bases, similarity-wise speaking.

Now, can anyone tell me who Michelle Obama would look like if two trains are travelling in opposite directions at 60 miles per hour?

We are crazy, too. We have been broken into pieces... for fear of being broken into pieces.

From one, many.
