NARAL, the big abortion lobbying and pestering propaganda group, wanted a donation for a silent auction. Austin, TX, coffee shop Summermoon declined to donate.

Note: They declined to donate to an allegedly pro-choice group. Which, last time I checked, is their choice to make. Since the donation would come from their property, and all.

For exercising their choice, NARAL and the thugs at Burnt Orange Report — Texas’ leftwing moonbat blog — are naming and shaming them as  — get this –

Anti-choice.

For making a choice that the pro-abortionists disagree with, they’re “anti-choice.”

One could be forgiven for wondering whether choice is really, at the end of the day, what NARAL, the BORs and their supporters are really all about.

If these hippie twits had the requisite brain cells to understand irony, their heads would explode.

But they don’t. So the allegedly pro-choice fascists are trying to intimidate the coffee shop out of making the choice that they freely made.

The thugs left so many nasty comments on Summermoon’s website that as of now, it’s offline.

They’re also beating up on Summermoon on the shop’s Facebook page.

As for me, next time I’m in the area, it’s Summermoon for me.

So you do not believe in the concept of intent? Surely it is disingenuous of you to obfuscate a logical inference from the actions of the pro-abortion group. They did cause a disturbance and even went so far as to incite against the coffee shop. The coffee shop didn't say whether or not its management was pro or con abortion, they just didn't want to donate. The pro-abortion group took their rejection as proof that the coffee shop was anti-their position and proceeded to trash, malign, intimidate, insult and incite against the coffee shop. The very definition of thuggery. Your nom-de-plume is only half right. You are skeptical...

I agree that their response was clumsy. But so what, they are running a coffee shop, not a NARAL PAC. I'm not expecting them to be politically savvy, I'm expecting them to make good coffee.

And they do. I am here right now. Their namesake "Summermoon Latte" is fabulous. And if you're thinking about boycotting, well, you may be doing yourself a favor, because the line at the cash register is long.

Well, anonymous coward, respecting their choice would mean accepting that they disagree and moving on, not siccing their hordes of enraged acolytes on them.

Saying someone who wants to kill their child so they can keep the money it would cost to raise that child for themselves, while sacrificing the glorious value that child could give them forever is Pro-Choice for the child is a lie anyway. Punching you in the nose is "pro-choice" for the Fist. Not so much Pro-choice for your nose. Pro-abortionists should stop using that false stupid euphemism. I am pro-choice for the child in utero. Which means I am anti-abortion. I was pro-choice for the Slaves which means I was an Abolitionist before Lincoln. I was pro-Choice for victims of the Holocaust which means when Hitler said he was Pro-Choice for the Aryans in advancing their Lebensraum Advancement, I was anti-choice for Hitler. Get it? Stop this "Pro-Choice" nonsense. It is a Big Orwellian Lie. Read Your Orwell. Then Read Him Again.

Perhaps their refusal to donate had more to do with the rising cost of doing business in an anti-business climate. If money is tight and if the costs of their benefits is rising, it's nobody's business but their own. Donations, by definition, are voluntary.

That's what they get for not being card carrying party member.
SummerMoon just needs to cough up the "protection" money.

It's a kicking coffee shop.

One of the reasons to live in Texas is that you get to say what you think. Sammy Baugh- if I want to pee off my front porch- I go pee off my front porch.

Really, it's really good coffee.

The people protesting? Are they really from around here? or are the yankees to cheap to get vasectomies? they like dead babies?

they like cheap bottle blonde democrats? I mean, I have nothing against bottle blondes- but Wendy Davis can afford salon-blonde. is this ginning up the 'base' for next year?

Austin is the last bastion of wacky lefties in Texas. It's full of lefties who would do this. Heck, in Austin if you even have a conservative bumper sticker on your car, they'll go after you.

Am I the only one who don't see what they're doing as being "thugs"? Had they physically attacked those who work in the coffee shop, say, or caused a disturbance there, it would indeed be thuggish. But writing a nasty web page about them for not donating?

Oh the humanity. Free publicity to the coffee shop -- now everybody knows they're not donating to pro-abortion groups. Which is what they WANT to be known as, isn't it? To be perfectly clear, I think their choice is perfectly legitimate, it's just that I don't see what is thuggish about telling people that a shop which refused to donate, refused to donate.

That's big of you to think their choice is perfectly legitimate (who asked you?) Of course their choice is legitimate. We don't live yet in a totally stultified politically correct state, but we will if the left have their way. Mr. Preston's emphasis was on the irony of them claiming to be "pro-choice" and attacking someone for making a choice. Perhaps "thug" is a poor word choice. How about "fascist" There, fixed that.

Duh, huh? You don't see what is thuggish about attacking someone who would rather not contribute to your cause? What is wrong with you?

Well Mr Thinker, I guess we should shut down all the anti bullying campaigns in schools because bullies are just "making choices" (and besides they need the training to become the liberals of the future). We'll just have to wait until some well organized and fanatical group does that to you or your business over a choice that you have made and see if you can still relax, smoke your pipe and be so philosophical about it.

I don't know. It's a friggin' web page. Does it have death threats or anything like that on it (which would, indeed, be actionable)? No. It just says nasty things about someone they dislike. "Political group's web page criticizes those they dislike" surely ranks as the world's least important news.

Remember: just because THEY try to shut down every unpopular or rude or insulting (to them) opinion by claiming it "promotes violence" or is "threatenning", doesn't mean WE need to do the same thing.

"so many nasty comments on Summermoon’s website that as of now, it’s offline. They’re also beating up on Summermoon on the shop’s Facebook page."

A little more than a friggin web page. And they grossly misrepresent their target - a small business made of real people who made a private and personal choice. There actions are not only mean but libelous and slanderous. But I am not suggesting that they be prosecuted - just that they are unreasonable A-holes who deserve to be vilified and painted as such.

I am pro choice, but not pro NARAL. These tactics are inexcusable & outright hypocrisy. The best "choice" for the coffeehouse would have been to say something like "we are a small business & can't afford to give away much product" OR "our giving program is already established & we support (insert org name here)". OR they could've pulled a Nancy Reagan..."just say no".
