And what do you make of the timing of this political hot potato? Out of the clear, blue sky Lois Lerner volunteers this dynamite information, dropping it on a lazy Friday afternoon with Benghazi sucking up all the oxygen in the media universe. Not exactly subtle are they?

The administration will go to the ends of the earth to keep Obama from any taint of scandal here. Using the IRS for political purposes is just the sort of thing conservatives have been looking for since Obama took office.

One of the articles of impeachment against Richard Nixon was his use of the IRS to harass and destroy his political enemies.

Wait - so this is something you consider impeachable? And all that silly stuff about Benghazi isn't?

And that's why you wrote that other piece? Because you want people to jump on this bandwagon instead?

Well. Bad as this is, I still consider letting people die to be a worse offense. And one more directly attributable to the president.

I just don't get you.

Benghazi might have been a misjudgement initially, before it became a coverup. Targeting political enemies for IRS harassment was deliberate from the git go.

Wake up, Rick Moran. This is your moderate, legitimate, America-loving President at work. Don't you just love him?

I told you not to miss any of your remedial reading classes at the JC. Now look what happened. You are functionally illiterate again.

I have written about 3, 000 blog posts, articles, and essays all over the net since 2007 when Obama announced his candidacy. There may be a dozen or so that say anything nice about the president and thousands that skewer him.

You're problem is that I don't hate him with the same, unreasoning, hysterical spite that you do. Sorry, but I don't do crazy very well.

Now the real questions are: 1) will this be treated as seriously by the media as it would had Bush done such a thing, and 2) will anything be done about it?

Forget Benghazi, here is you impeachable offense.

Why wait to see if the media treat this properly. The IRS and Obama are targeting conservatives, why are conservatives waiting for the MSM to do something? Stand up for yourself Unions and Black Panthers don't hope the media see things their way. They act on their own behalf.

Here's a question - other than their normal harassment, did they take any further enforcement actions? Did they find any violations?

I'm going to assume they did, and under the "even blind squirrel trips over a nut now and then" rule, it might even have been valid. But if it goes beyond that ... well, if it went beyond that, we might have heard about it by now.

Not but that the harassment part of it isn't plenty bad enough, the IRS even when they do their job honestly is a pain in the butt.

Friday document dumps tend to work best when there's no other major scandal already in the pipeline -- dumping the IRS information yesterday and today on top of the Benghazi revelations is more like pouring gasoline onto the brushfire, because it makes it even tougher for the Sunday shows to avoid talking about Obama Administration corruption in general and not tie the two together (though if David Gregory centers "Meet the Press" on Sunday around the Jodi Arias verdict and the release of the Cleveland hostages, it wouldn't be a shock. But I don't expect ABC and CBS to do the same this time around).

Yet more evidence that liberals are mentally incapable of objectivity. You're born with it or you aren't. Which explains why they have no interest in western thought: it simply dumfounds them.

Do we really want to continue living with these people?

(BTW: I think you Quayled that potato.)

Am I the only one who thinks the timing of this story is meant to distract from Benghazi?

It's more likely this bubbling pot of corruption leads directly to the White House, and the Regime is hoping that by dumping it on a news-heavy Friday afternoon, no one will notice the stench. It's clear Obama is hoping the media will help him tamp down the Benghazi damage, or at least shift the blame to HRC, but why not use the crisis to get rid of this other problem?
