National Black Chamber of Commerce President Harry C. Alford blasted President Barack Obama today on the Andrea Tantaros Show. Alford says that he supported Obama’s election 2008, but now says that Obama “made a fool out of me.” Alford says that many Americans, including prominent citizens like radio host Tom Joyner, explicitly voted for Obama because he is black. Alford says that he joined in and voted for Obama to be the first black president, but now recognizes electing Obama was a huge mistake. He slammed Obama for continually campaigning rather than leading, and for failing to perform the basic functions of his job while doing everything he can to keep growing government power over the citizens.

“He believes in government controlling the lives of the people,” Alford said. “He wants government in anything and everything. Health insurance. He wants it in your job, the way you run your lifestyle, culture. He wants to take away your guns, which is a constitutionally-protected right.”

Alford also called out Barack Obama’s inattention to the national budget. The president has yet to submit a budget on time, and has not had a budget passed in more than 1,400 days.

“He doesn’t care about a budget. I’ve never known a president who doesn’t care about a budget. How do you run the richest economy in the world without a budget?” Alford asked. “You can’t even run a shoe-shine stand without a budget.”

Host Andrea Tantaros asked Alford whether Obama’s economic failures can be attributed to his inexperience — he has never run a business or held any executive job until the presidency — or to his beliefs.

“Oh, he’s got some plans he won’t dare discuss. He wants to take it some place where we’ve never been before, and it’s some place where we shouldn’t go. He is scary,” Alford answered.

“What do you think those plans are?” Tantaros asked.

“To make America not as great as it once was,” Alford responded. “That all countries should be equal, and everyone should get along, and stop thinking that European socialists is a bad system. We should be like them. We should be like France, as it’s approaching a 75% rate for taxation for wealthy. It’s crazy.”

Tantaros asked Alford, can the Republican Party find a way to attract more black voters, in a time when the president’s policies are producing heavy unemployment in the black community? Alford cited the misery in a major American, Democrat-run city as an opportunity for the GOP.

“You know, a major opportunity for the Republicans is the the city of Detroit,” Alford said. “It is a disaster, and the Republican governor is taking it over. What if he assigned that city to Mitt Romney, like we did the Winter Olympics? And he brought that city back? That is a game-changer for the Republican Party.”

Sadly many of my friends are in the same boat as Mr. Alford. "Made a fool out of by President Obama". They voted for Obama because it was an opportunity to vote for the "Frist Black President". I saw who he was as a person, and could not 'hold my nose' and vote for him! That was a very difficult decision for me personally given that I was born and raised in the inner city during the civil rights era. But that is what 'grown up folk' do. They make the hard decisions when necessary.

My friends (and family) even now cannot bring them selves to even admit that it was sheer folly to vote for this man. But guess what, many of these same people, voted for him AGAIN in 2012. What's the quote? "You can't fix stupid". !!! What ever happened to "fool me once...."

So, he voted based on race and isn't happy with the outcome. Serves him right.

Sadly, I seriously doubt that the City of Detroit can be rescued by anyone. There just does not seem to be a viable economic reason for this city to exist. it was once located strategically on waterways that allowed for the efficient manufacturing and transport of automobiles. That advantage disappeared decades ago. Right now, there exists no raison d'etre for a major urban area at this venue.

Harry Alford, like most of our so-called black leaders, suspended common sense by embracing a Communist for the highest office in the land simply because The Communist wore his half-blackness like 20 pounds of headlights stapled to his chest. Alford has built a career on campaigning against the notorious and racist 1932 era FDR legislation, the Davis Bacon Act, that has effectively kept blacks out of the construction industry for nearly 100 years. Yet everybody and their mammas knew that the Communist in the Oval Office always was, and continues to be one of the staunchest supporters of Davis-Bacon on planet Earth simply because organized labor literally owns the low-rent grifter. Alford knew this from the get go, yet he supported the thug in 2008. Shame on Alford.

I thought it was liberals and other socialists who lived on kool-aid and fantastical thinking. The GOP ought to seize Detroit and have Mitt Romney fix it?

Detroit is not fixable within years, if ever, and for the GOP to risk its reputation to clean up the mess that the Great Society created is insane. Leave it to the Feds and the DNC, they broke it, they ought to fix it.

Well, it certainly would be a game changer if Romney (or any other Republican--say, how about Herman Cain??) brought Detroit back. He's right about that. Could be a lot of Detroiters are ready to get behind a serious effort.

Brilliant! Cast a stereotyped, symbolism-based ballot and now complain he's not what you expected?? Most of the complaints listed were easily discernible if Alford would made even the least bit of effort or even had the curiosity to investigate. Who'd he vote for in 2012?

Alford failed to do his homework, simply because the nominee was half-black. He could have vetted Sen. Obama, exposed him, and made sure he would never get any further than the Senate. But noooo....

Any one who belongs to a race-based chamber of commerce is a fool out of the starting gate. I'm trying to think of what seventh hell of idiocy it would take for me to belong to a White National Chamber of Commerce. There might've been a reason for a black org. like that a half century ago, there isn't now.

As for voting for a black man - when you do that, that's what you get, a man who is black. He could be an idiot, a racist, a Marxist, a con man - you don't know. Because you ignored that stuff and went for the skin. Black political culture in America today is so incredibly stunted it's unbelievable.

It's race, race, race, 24/7 while they complain about people who don't actually do that. They should hand out medals to get to that level of stupidity cuz I didn't think it was possible to keep blowing that horn in 2013, but it's louder than in 1965.

I live just about 6 miles due west from Detroit's N/W corner and in my community{Farmington} we have an African-American PTA.
This, in a community founded by Quakers in the 1830's and seemingly as 'unracist' as any you'd ever find.
Yet, some saw a need to divorce themselves from the community at large and "get all kindsa' " separate.
If we see this attitude [as an example, admittedly] in my community, what in hell goes on 'inside' 8 mile and Telegraph?
Just check out our local media for a few weeks and see for yourself. Try our local Fox Station T V 2. One of their faves is a community shouting match called "Let It Rip".
I can watch it for ,...oh,... say 5 minutes or so, and then,I just gotta go......

In the case of Obama, you've got all four in the same package.

To me Obama's vision is a simple and straightforward one: he wants to advance the cause of black people in America - his entire career and associates screams this. The only way he can do that is to come at the issue sideways, although he's been hiding it about as good as the sun is hiding light.

However it's been good enough for his base. Obama quite simply believes that blacks will never do good in an America that is systemically stacked against black folks. The only answer is an American version of Marxism, that in it's particulars, is quite different, but in principle the same.

It's no coincidence the church he went to borrows from Marxism or that Derrick (open your hearts) Bell's Critical Race Theory and also Critical Pedagogy all borrow from Marxism and at the same time all carp on race.

The reason Obama's so terrible on all other fronts is that they bore him; one cannot get good at something that doesn't interest you. There, Obama simple does what his constituency wants cuz he doesn't really care about gay rights or feminism or the environment. Everything that doesn't have some racial angle is practically invisible. Health care, is the number one thing Obama has done for blacks because, in the end, they'll simply get it for free, or near enough to be the same thing.
