Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was so offended by House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) use of the word “ass” yesterday that it reminded him of the brothels of his childhood.

Boehner noted at a press conference yesterday that President Obama “is going all over the country holding rallies instead of sitting down with Senate leaders” even though the House has passed legislation to stop sequestration twice.

“We should not have to move a third bill before the Senate gets off their ass and begins to do something,” the Speaker said.

After a closed policy luncheon today, that was the first thing on Reid’s mind.

“You know, I was raised in a little town that had 13 brothels in it, so I’m used to some pretty salty language, as you know, but the speaker today said he’s not — that category for sure, but Boehner hopes the Senate gets off their ass. And it’s quite interesting. ‘We should not have to move a third bill before the Senate gets off their ass and begins to do something,’” Reid told reporters.

“I think he should understand who is sitting on their posterior. We’re doing our best here to pass something. The speaker’s doing nothing to try to pass anything over there. He’s falling back onto what he said they did last Congress. Well, we have something called the Constitution that you have to start over again every two years. And the reason that he’s not bringing up something over there is because he can’t pass it. He can’t get his caucus to agree on anything, as we learned last year. So he can’t say to us, why don’t you get something done, when he is not even trying to get anything done.”

Reid was raised in Searchlight, Nev. Boehner, who began working in his family’s southwest Ohio bar at age 8, is well known for his language on the Hill, including calling the cap-and-trade bill a “pile of s**t.”

After a fiscal-cliff meeting at New Year’s, Boehner told Reid to “go f**k yourself.”

“One of my Senate Republican colleagues, Senator Johnson of Wisconsin, suggested that the speaker’s looking out for his speakership above all else. It’s time for Republicans to put self-interest aside and do what’s best for the American people,” Reid said — which, he claimed, includes a call from Americans to raise taxes yet again on upper-income brackets.

“Anything the speaker has regarding the C.R. or an omnibus, I’m anxious to see it. I met with him a day or two before we had our break. We had a nice conversation. He hadn’t made up his mind yet what he was going to do. I told him, whatever you do, give me a little advance notice and I’ll see if I can work with you,” Reid said.

Sequestration begins Friday.

“If it were easy to solve the big spending problem here in Washington somebody over the last 20 years would have figured it out,” Boehner said in an interview aired on CBS this morning. “This is not easy to do, but the House has done its work. And the president got re-elected; this is a time to lead.”

Oh my, possible felon Harry Reid's delicate sensibilities are offended. I just hope he doesn't have an attack of the vapors.

Reid is worried about Boehner's language, because he knows he can't answer Boehner's challenge.

Seriously—you've had four years to come up with something.

I simply cannot conceive of Harry Reid being anywhere near a brothel, in his childhood or otherwise. For someone raised "near brothels" he comes across like a nasty old lesbian. Serious cognitive dissonance there.

Reid reminds me of the whiny little worms we used to slap around in my childhood. He is a totally despicable lying rat.

All I know is, Mr. Boehner, if you cave on this Sequester fraud, like you have caved on every other fabricated "catastrophe" that the Obama forces have set you up for over the past two years of your Speakership, ... Well, I guess we should have known EXACTLY who you are when you blubbered yourself into the House leadership in 2010. Stand up like a man, you ass, for once in your life, and be a Republican!!!!!

Reid is a lying ...... Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said no such thing. He said the exact opposite. I used to live in Wisconsin and I watch everything they are doing. How that person got to be leader of the Senate is a mystery to me, "coal kills people", "Romney is a liar". Reid frankly has earned the distinction of being the first Mormon I simply can not stand.

When I read the title, my first thought was that Reid behaves as though he was conceived, born, and raised in one. I'd love to get a DNA test on him and find out who his real parents are.

Harry Reid's acquisition of wealth via the political sphere shows that neither having a Y chromosome, nor being shockingly ugly, nor being (or claiming to be) a Mormon, is enough to stop a person from being a highly-paid prostitute.
