The proposal to mint a trillion-dollar platinum coin to “pay off” our debts or avoid the debt ceiling is gaining traction on the left. It’s insane and inflationary, but it’s gaining traction.

The clearest message from Carney’s dance is that President Barack Obama has no intention at all to cut any non-defense spending. He’s more than happy to gash defense to the bone, of course.
