Andrea Saul,Romney Campaign National Press Secretary, made the following statement in response to the Obama campaign’s comments on the terrorist attack in Libya:
“President Obama’s campaign today said that Libya is only an issue because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. They’re wrong. The reason it is an issue is because, for the first time since 1979, an American ambassador was assassinated and President Obama’s foreign policy strategy of ‘leading from behind’ is failing. This administration has continually misled the American public about what happened in Benghazi and, rather than be truthful about the sequence of events, has instead skirted responsibility and dodged questions. The American people deserve straight answers about this tragic event and a president who can provide leadership, not excuses.”
Update: CBS News says Cutter is wrong.
CBS is right. Romney/Ryan said that they were not going to make Benghazi an issue on the campaign trail, preferring to let Congress take the lead. I didn’t think much of that strategy at the time, but so far it has been vindicated. Cutter lying about it just adds to the mix now. Will media continue to note when she isn’t telling the truth? That could quickly become a full-time job.
She may be right in a sick, twisted way. If there were not an election they might have been able to sweep the whole thing under the rug.

Someone should tell Ms. Cutter that the American public damn well deserves an explanation for why our Ambassador to Libya was killed due to lack of security when the Embassy in Vienna received Chevy Volts and the accompanying $100,000 battery charger. Or was that Romney’s fault too?

Here is something else, and I hope someone in the media picks up on it…when Eric Nordstrom talked about the difficulties of getting the needed support from the State Department. My husband retired from the Army after serving over 30 years, almost all of them Special Forces, having been involved in EVERY theatre of combat operations from Desert Shield to Afghanistan. The common factor in every one was wrestling with the U.S. government, getting the support they needed. The red tape and just downright stupid sh!t was simply unbelievable.

I just watched Bret Baier interview Cutter and he got his ass eaten by a shark. I have never been so ashamed of anyone on Fox except for O’reilly in all of the hours I have watched this channel. He couldn’t shut her up to make his point and he was not conversant on Romney’s tax plan so she clobbered him. I have never seen anyone so unprepared for a monster like her as Baier. If he thought she was going to come on a Fox program and be nice he needs to get a new career. He even looked hangdog at the end and she was grinning from horn to horn.

Actually, she has done more harm to the whole community of Liberal politics. I am married to a career military man and through our many moves, we have met many people in various parts of the government. We have friends who work for State at embassies overseas. Not diplomats but regular people with families. Seeing how callously they treat the lives of even their highest level people, I fear for the other staffers. Dont even get me started on how the military is regarded & hamstrung. Everything I feared about obama/clinton in charge re military & foreign relations have proven to have been accurate. If anything, my imagination wasnt big enough to have conceived of some of that have happened. I am just flabbergasted

If you’re hungry for a dish of illogical statements about the reason the American people and families of the Libyan victims are clamoring for answers, Stephanie Cutter will slice and dice them up for you in a disturbing incoherent, tasteless fashion.
I’m just a housewife from Orange, New Jersey, but I’m a citizen and I’d like President Obama and the rest of his story tellers to tell the truth about Libya. Apparently, though, Ms. Cutter thinks that’s too much to ask.
Initially, it seemed odd when Obama and his marionettes kept on saying they’d have to wait for an investigation before determining the causes and guilty parties who deserve blame for the the U.S. lack of security in Egypt and Libya on the anniversary of 9/11.
At the same time, from day two, people like Jay Carney, White House official spokesman, not only failed to blame Hillary and Obama for their refusal to beef up security, but they said “protests were caused by a youtube video that first appeared last July.
Makes no sense to me.
You can’t on the one hand say you need to wait for an investigation, and, on the other, officially and immediately give the reason for the attacks. Lay blame on a video. Then why have an investigation?
As I said, I’m just a housewife, but aren’t those two acts mutually exclusive?
One other nit-pick I have with Obama.
Day 2, September 12, 2012, Obama had been given definitive information that the attack on the Libyan consulate and safe house where Ambassador Stevens was raped and murdered was planned and premeditated; three other brave Americans also losing their lives; that the horrific acts were carried out by Muslim extremist terrorist savages. Which feels closer to the truth than the video story. But Obama and other of his coterie using the video as the scapegoat continued for weeks.
Obama and his henchmen lied, lied and lied again, as if Double Frequent Liar Miles were being given away; even at the UN; almost three weeks later.
Knowingly and falsely, in an obvious and pathetic attempt to again deflect blame, Obama, Johnny one note, blamed the actions (of what the rest of the free world recognized as hard core terrorists) on the youtube video.
I swear, that single video has gotten more blame in a month than Billy Buckner received in the last 26 years for letting a ball go through his legs in game 6 of the 1986 World Series.
Which was an error. Non-intentional.
Barack Obama, who I’m starting to believe has nothing between his legs, on the other hand, intentionally proceeded to hang out to dry; throw under the bus (modern jargon) countless other ObamaLackies, from Hillary Clinton to Susan E. Rice.
Poor Susan Rice, her career a shambles, is now the laughingstock of the nation for blaming that little piece of video for the mayhem in the Middle East.
All, by the way, avoidable only if the security requested by Ambassador Chris Stevens, weeks before the attack, was provided. But I guess a President can’t juggle every ball in the air when he spends his Presidency, campaigning, raising money; appearing with every celebrity from Letterman to Beyonce to Lady Gaga. Don’t forget the jaunt to Las Vagas happened a day after the murders.
As you know, these kinds of Presidential junkets happen not only after horrific events like Ambassador Stevens, terrorist murder, but most every week of Obama’s Presidency. Which also makes face to face national security meetings impossible to attend. Gosh, I wonder if attending national security meetings are important if you’re the President of the United States?
Of course, to be completely honest, I’ll admit Obama did some real work in the last month. He personally prepped Susan Rice before she went on those Sept. 12, Sunday, news shows on Sept. 12, lying though her pearly whites the day after the Libyan murders.
To be totally honest, though, the little lying UN Ambassador didn’t just appear, but appeared an idiot on what seemed like every Sunday morning news show in the world blaming a video for Ambassador Steven’s murder, rape; for wholesale plundering of American property and for the other savage murders of U.S. personnel, including two U.S. decorated SEALS.
Considering the stinking job President Obama, in all honesty, has done since January 20,2009, I’m starting to wonder if I should vote for him on November 6.
