Obama Super PAC Banked $1 Million from Producer of Anti-Religious Movie

Not the crummy Mohammed movie everyone is talking about, heavens no. That movie is “abhorrent.”

In 2008, Bill Maher produced the film Religulous. That film mocks organized religion and, in particular, singles out Christianity for scorn. The purpose of the movie is to depict religious believers as crazy. Take a look at the trailer. It’s a bit heavy-handed, what with the Gnarls Barkley soundtrack and all.

In the wake of this week’s riots and attacks on the U.S. across the Middle East, the Obama administration has taken pains to assure the world that the United States is not a fan of mocking religion. In his initial statement on the Benghazi atrocity, President Obama said:

While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.

What is Religulous, if not an attempt to denigrate the religious beliefs of others? The title is a mash-up of “religion” and “ridiculous.”

Well, here’s where the hypocrisy comes in. Barack Obama’s super PAC, Priority USA Action, pocketed a $1 million donation from Bill Maher this year.

The Obama campaign is profiting from the denigration of religion. His super PAC has no intentions of giving that money back.

Because no one rioted over Bill Maher’s movie.

The lesson for us evangelicals and Catholics who want the Obama administration to, say, overturn the abortifacient mandate could not be clearer: Obama will respect our faith, and he might even listen to us, when we riot and kill people.

On a serious note, it’s obvious now that in the thinking of this administration, one religion is more equal than the rest.
