This sign is meant to mock the “God Hates Fags” sign of Westboro Baptist Church. Gay activists often reference the Westboro signs, and intentionally conflate the virulently anti-gay sentiments of the Fred Phelps clan with any opposition to same sex marriage, completely unaware that conservatives despise the Westboro Baptist Church even more than liberals do.

Thanks to my girlfriend’s basic cable obsession with make-over shows, I was really under the impression that all gay men were fit and well-dressed and handsome. And in her TV dramas, all lesbians are glamorous and smart and lawyers.
Then this Gay Marriage thing came up and all are see are homely, balding, dumpy gay men – who insist on kissing equally hideous dudes. And the lesbians, a few might be lawyers, but they have no concern for their appearance.

I thought we are celebrating Dan Cathy’s First Amendment Rights. The first picture shows someone else embracing their First Amendment Rights. Clearly, anyone who said that they embrace Dan Cathy’s statements as a First Amendment Right also embraces this individuals choices for equally honest reasons.
Well, there’s a difference between a politely expressed opinion and all-out offensiveness. Both people have the right to their opinions, but they should not be surprised at different reactions. I think the t-shirt is purely offensive, was designed for that purpose, and I am offended. I shall now do my best to both pray for his understanding why he shouldn’t do what he did and forget al about it.
Oh he knew what he was doing by wearing that shirt. His intent was solely to insult we Christians who believe in traditional marriage. I didn’t see anyone wearing shirts or holding signs that would be truly offensive to the gay community, did you? So why are the gays so vile and vindictive toward us? Only because we refuse to accept their demands, that’s why. I hope Biden and Obummer are proud of what they started with their flip-flopping. May it come back to bite them both in the arse.
NOT SEEING THE HYPOCRISY. No one is denying them their 1st amendment rights. No one has even suggested doing it. Presumably the “Kiss-in” protestors had no problem with that, or they would have been at the Appreciation day rallies. The First Amendment says that the Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech or the exercise of religion. Courts have expanded that to other branches of government. When a mayor or says that you may not do business because of your beliefs or things you have said, there is a First Amendment issue. That has happened to Dan Cathy (mayors of Boston and Chicago). If the police had arrested the guy in the tee shirt because of the tee shirt, there would be a First Amendment case. If a mayor or governor says that that a guy with that tee shirt cannot do business in their cities or states, there would be a First Amendment case. If a private individual criticizes or mocks the individual in the tee shirt, there is no First Amendment issue. That the First Amendment restricts the government and not citizens should be common knowledge, but too often it is not. I am not seeing hypocrisy, but I am noticing ignorance.
How does Emmanuel justify his statements against Chick-fil-a’s owners beliefs as not being Chicago values. It would imply that he is saying that Chicago values embrace homosexuality. To be evenhanded Chicago will need to force the Black Muslims out of Chicago as well. Islam hates homosexuals, while Christians merely hate the acts which are against God’s law. We still love the people, we just hate the sin.

Noticing the purposely offensive content of a protester’s speech (conveyed via T-shirt) is not the same as saying he doesn’t have the right to express this view. He does, and we’re free to comment on it, too. Sorry, no hypocrisy here.
The true hypocrisy is that the group making accusations of hate – as in supporting traditional marriage = hating gays – is doing what appears to be hateful. If that’s all they could muster up in Hollyweird, they may as well have had it on a Sunday. Sheesh.
They supposedly had 15,000 people signed up for the Kiss-in. (Compare that to over half a million who RSVP’d the CFA Appreciation Day FB page.) I doubt they had anywhere near 15,000 actually show up to protest across the entire country; probably more like 1500, or maybe no more than 150. The news story I saw was national and showed a couple of stores with maybe a couple dozen protesters each. We had ZERO protesters locally (and have several CFA’s in the greater metro area).
Do the math: even if every single person who signed up to attend the Kiss-in showed up, that’s still about ten per store. I’m pretty sure (no, actually, I’m dead certain *grin*) that CFA had a thousand or more customers per store on Wednesday, buying sammiches and supporting Dan Cathy’s “bigoted” world view. What’s maybe ten versus thousands?
It should be pretty clear now to corporate America that when the left threatens a boycott, they’re pretty much just blowing smoke and should be ignored. Sure, they may show up to protest, but they won’t make much difference to your bottom line.

We visited a nearby Chick-fil-A tonight which was swamped on Wednesday. (It opened a month or so ago, and the cashier told us that they had more customers Wednesday than they did on Opening Day, when they were giving out free food.)
Not a SSM protester in sight, not one. At dinnertime on Friday.
During the local 5-6:00 PM newscasts, there was no mention of the Kiss-in, even though stations locally had been talking about it in every telecast since Wednesday. At 10:00 PM, the only coverage was a national report, which showed two or three stores (the vandalized Torrence CA store, along with protesters in Atlanta and maybe somewhere in So-Cal like Hollywood?)
The national report did show some footage from the Wednesday buycott, making the visual point that the buycott had FAR more supporters than the Kiss-in had.
This should serve as a message to companies: don’t cave in when leftists threaten a boycott. If you stand firm, the right will reward you handsomely. If you cave in to their demands, you WILL lose business. (Look at that computer backup company’s recent numbers…)
The right does buycotts far more effectively than the left does boycotts.

Just to clarify: The temptation is not the sin, according to Christian beliefs.
Many of them do suffer from psychological issues,like bi-polar disorder,depression and so forth. Lesbian couples have higher rates of DV than straights or male gays. As a Christian, you really should take pity on them and pray for them,because they do need some help from both the J Man and mental health professionals, but it’s basically illegal or legally perilous for the mental health profession to treat the root of their problems,so ironically Jesus is all they got.

Evolution has no direct application to the sciences. It could be left out of the curriculum. Parents could teach their children that they were made in the image of the Creator and have the promise of life everlasting.
Conflating evolution, which is a standard non-controversial and self-evident scientific principle, with Global Warming Hysteria, which is not science but politicized numbers-rigging, is the reason why conservatives get tagged with the “anti-science” label. If you want to attack AGW, fine, but leave evolution out of it. Linking the two is what discredits AGW skeptics.

Everybody has to draw a line in the sand somewhere. This is where I draw mine. I will not pretend insouciance about an issue that is near and dear to my heart. I’ve been commenting on the Internet for about ten years now, and if I remember correctly my very first comment was a defense of evolution, since that is one of my areas of expertise in real life (I almost never write about evolution as “zombie” because I don’t like mixing real life and blog life). I have never wavered since.
The topic of evolution is not such a big deal to me that it will make me “change sides,” since in the final analysis it’s a fairly minor side issue in a much larger political debate: If forced to choose between teaming up with a constitutionalist who doubts evolution or with a Marxist who accepts evolution, I will join hands with the constitutionalist every time. Nor do I ever raise the topic myself (except in extremely rare circumstances). Nor do I deny other people the right to personally believe whatever they want concerning science and religion.
HOWEVER, when someone with whom I otherwise agree starts acting like “we” all doubt evolution, I’m not going to bite my tongue. I have long thought that this one issue is the American right’s Achilles Heel: a publicly espoused opinion that is demonstrably wrong. While I have no illusions that I can “convert” anyone on the Internet to accept evolution (that’s my day job), I can at least let the world know that there is not unanimity on this issue in the “conservative” ranks. I am especially rankled when people compare the teaching of catastrophic AGW, which really and truly is political charlatanism, with evolution, which is an apolitical nonpartisan scientific principle. Linking the two seriously weakens our position of strength on the AGW issue: every time someone says we should stop indoctrinating our kids with AGW redistributionist hysteria just like we should stop indoctrinating our kids with that evolution nonsense, I scream internally with frustration.
My personal beef is not directly with your defense of evolution. But my problem is with the broad generalized comments that are often used to bypass proper discussion of issues. You see it all the time oppose Obama and you are racist, have problems with Islam and it is Islamophobia, have different views on sexual ethics and it is hate and bigotry. The thing is the same with things like evolution, where the phrase anti-science is thriown all the time some opponents are anti-science but many are not. I prefer to see the exchange of ideas rather than the dismissal of opposition as extremism.
I can tell that you have a similar motivation you don’t want to see arguments against AGW, dismissed as anti-science nutters. I just thought that asserting that evolution was self evident made the implication that opposition could not come from reasonable people, which I thought was extreme hyperbole. Which despite your frustration is something we want to avoid if we want the exchange of ideas.

I am convinced, though I cannot prove, that PhelpsCo. is a false-flag operation intended to bring disrepute upon conservative Christians with the objective of keeping gays, liberal Jews, and secularists on the Democrat plantation.

The real question, which nobody has really investigated, is where PhelpsCo. gets the money not only to live on, but to mount its protests all over the country. Travel is not inexpensive, nor are accommodations. Signs cost money, too—as do clothes and living expenses and housing when one is not protesting. Where does PhelpsCo. get this? I have heard people say, blithely, “Oh, a number of them are lawyers (true), and they make their money from litigation.” To anyone who has actually made money from litigation, this is an extremely questionable declaration.
Where would PhelpsCo. “make money from litigation?” It is difficult to imagine that the PhelpsCo. lawyers make large legal fees for third-party clients; they are too busy running around protesting. People assume that PhelpsCo. takes home big damage awards, or settlements, which derive from assaults during their protests. But you never, or almost never, hear of PhelpsCo. protesters being assaulted; litigation awards for such assaults must necessarily be few, far between, and—given the provocation in which PhelpsCo. engages—very small, if indeed they exist at all. Not to mention that it takes a long time to grind through the courts to the point where there is a payday, even if one has a good, solid case.
In short, anyone familiar with the litigation process has to dismiss out of hand the notion that PhelpsCo. makes its money from protest-generated litigation. Where, then, does the PhelpsCo. bankroll come from?
My assumption is that they operate the way that many cult groups do. This common cult scenario is my best guess:
The overall cult operates as a commune consisting of several families. Unlike a standard religion in which someone might tithe, say, 10% of your income, in a collectivist cult you tithe 100% of your income. But not everyone in every family directly participates in the cult’s publicly visible activities. Thus, for example, Family X are members of the Westboro Baptist Church: the father and the eldest son work at decent paying jobs, but give all their money to Phelps. He in turn completely supports them, but there is “profit” left over that is used to finance trips, printing, etc. But the father and the son don’t ever go on those trips. Instead, the mother and the younger son and the daughter participate in the public protests, while the the dad and older son stay back home and keep working to pay for it all. Multiply this example a hundred-fold and you can see how it would be possible for Westboro to keep going without outside funding. It would also explain why you will see comparatively few able-bodied men protesting with PhelpsCo, as these pictures reveal — there is an unusual preponderance of women, children, and seniors, especially when compared to the average street protest, which is mostly hot-blooded young men.
This is exactly how Jim Jones’ People’s Temple worked, and David Berg’s Children of God, and also the Manson Family to a certain degree, and even the Scientologists on a much grander scale.
Basically, each person is assigned a duty within the commune: some people work for a paycheck behind the scenes to fund the public activism, while other don’t earn money but instead are shipped around the country as professional protesters.
Now, of course that doesn’t mean that they don’t also get mysterious manila envelopes stuffed with cash sent anonymously by Soros-funded “deep strategy” groups as well, hoping to keep Westboro going as a bogeyman. Needless to say, we’ll almost certainly never know for sure.

You’re right “hetero’s do it too”. But, the vast majority do not have anal sex. I guess once in a while could be exiting, but from what people have told me, its a rare occurrence. The problem gay men have is that they have ALOT of anal sex.They run a much higher risk of infection due to anal tearing, and due to the frequency and years of sex, the sphincter weakens and fecal incontinence will occur.
Many, many gays rely on adult diapers.Its a fact of life for them.

These photos are from one LA restaurant it appears. What’s with the “NATIONAL” Demonstration the MSM chatters about? The large C-F-A we visited at 2pm was swamped with customers. No protests. A block and half away sat a TV truck. Waiting….with high hopes, imagine. All day the North Cal media ran a TV streamer of “Kiss-in !” . Apparently the wait paid off after many hours. Two lavender gals Finally showed up about about 5pm apparently. In time to get one photo for the 6 o’clock local news. A picture of NBC directing the photo set up would have been More interesting.
Here’s what I think… I have never been gay… but I was sure anti-Christ. I used to make fun of the crucifix, I used to bash Christ followers, I used to be lewd and crude and loud and obnoxious…. I used to wear nasty t-shirts, I used to sell drugs and do them. I was an adulterer, morally loose and lived for my own pleasure… I don’t think I was much different than the goofball in the first photo… (yes I was much like him!) but Praise be to God, I got saved . I know that if God could get to my heart (and it was hard, hard, hard) then He can get to anyone’s heart. We don’t have to approve, agree or say nice things about them but please remember to pray for those who are lost, pray for our enemies… They really need a Savior… they are so lost. I am so grateful that someone (don’t know who) prayed for me, I was hopeless. and so were all of us, but for God’s grace!! Hate the sin, love the sinners and yes they will sure make us wonder how to do it sometimes but look what God did for me.
