Yeah, baby!
Guess who does not want to get primaried in his next election? Cornyn.
Does anyone think Holder will do anything other than say, in effect, “up yours Senator”? With a Democrat majority in the Senate.
And when Holder doesn’t, call on Obama to fire him.
Will any of this get Holder out of office before November? No – but it does serve notice to the DOJ that, no matter who wins the Presidency, they’ll have a different boss next year. Might have an effect on how they do their jobs in the near future…
I’m hoping that 1) Cornyn is not the type of guy to “walk-back” today’s demand and “apologize” for it. If he does, it would mean that McConnell got to him and took him to the woodshed.
2)I also hope that this might be the defining moment in history where the implosion begins. Why, at lunch today they had CNN on the screen and they were actually reporting the 40% loss of net worth of the American family. I was shocked, shocked I tells ya!
But when you have an administration put together with bubble gum and bailing wire, it’s really not that hard to deconstruct it once you get started. The American people have probably filled congressmen’s and senators’ electronic storage to the brim with the demand for Holder’s bye-bye. And finally…
Accusations of Cornyn being a racist in 3…2…1
When I see McConnell’s face I see a senile old man who needs to go back to the nursing home.
Is it wrong to judge him on his appearance?
Or should I be more harsh and judge him on his lack of performance?
Trouble is that pesky, sticky, bubble gum. Sticks to everything: your scissors, knife, fingers, hair, shirt, shoes. Gets real messy, real fast. Worse, with this Admin and its MSM Ministry of Disinformation and Lies, the bubble gum gets “squared”. Yuck! We’re all going to need lots of showers before this is over.
John Cornyn was a Texas Supreme Court Judge, Texas Attorney General, as well as a District Court Judge before becoming the junior Senator from Texas. He knows and respects the law. He will not walk this statement back. He meant every single word.
John Cornyn was a Texas Supreme Court Judge, Texas Attorney General, as well as a District Court Judge before becoming the junior Senator from Texas. He knows and respects the law. Cornyn looked straight at Holder as he called for Holder’s resignation. He will not walk this statement back. He meant every single word.
I want Romney’s AG to prosecute Holder. Hold him responsible for Fast & Furious. Normally you don’t go after the previous administration, but Holder’s is a special case.
Don’t hold your breath on that one. Such an action would require the kind of moral courage only found in men of principle.
That ain’t Mitt Romney, and that ain’t the kind of man he’s likely to nominate.
If Romney wins, look for a lot of mushy-middle appointments, with a few actual leftists thrown in to be “bi-partisan”, and a whole lot of “can’t we all just get along”.
Nice of Cornyn to make the statement, but we’ll need more than a “Now, now, if you can’t be nice, go home” sort of thing.
That news about the 40% loss of net worth of the American family is simply devastating–both to American families, but also, of course, to the Bamster.
Devastating. How can the Democrats even begin to fight news like that?
An Préachán
How?
They’ll blame it on Bush.
Which is b*llshit, and everyone knows it by now.
Unfortunately, no they don’t. I just got off a returning Amtrak run, where I had a serious political discussion with a family of stunningly vacuous people who wholeheartedly believed it was still all Bush’s fault.
The war is never over, neighbors. We cannot EVER afford to rest on our laurels.
You know when you’ve got Cornyn on board that the consensus already exists among his colleagues to send Holder packing.
That should be a two-fer for the GOP, showing that they support the gay community. “Packing” that is.
Personal Foul
15 yards, loss of down.
What resign – who , me !!! impeach me if you can!!
You know what the gutless Congress will do – nothing lest they be accused of phony racism!!
So what can we read into the use of Mr. Holder’s phrase “constitutional crisis” today? F&F was not his Op. it came down from much higher. Note how DOS was one of the first to spout the bogus 90% of arms figure and how they felt obligated to tout the operation on their website for weeks.
Holder needs to be reminded that BHO won’t always be in power, and that he can go to jail!
Not if my prediction comes true – Holder will be the recipient of a ‘Get out of Jail Free’ card – compliments of Zero.
“The prospect of being hanged focuses the mind wonderfully.”
Racist.
The only term missing is RACIST. Holder is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the land that proudly advertises his RACISM.
The entire Obama administration has demonstrated it’s racism and that is the reason they will not get my vote.
I don’t vote for racists.
Finally, members in Congress are taking the battle to Holder. Should have been done a year ago. Holder looked bored during Cornyn’s speech, which just makes Holder look guilty. I really hope they cite Holder for contempt of Congress to see if he complies. If he still doesn’t comply, you could just have a major Constitutional crisis in the making. If Harry Reid doesn’t start impeachment proceedings in the Senate against Holder, there will be open warfare between the Republicans and the Democrats in Congress (making what’s going on right now look like child’s play). If Harry Reid blocks impeachment, then have Reid explain to the nation why Holder is not giving up all the information on an ill-conceived and botched operation that left one US Border Patrol agent dead and God knows how many Mexicans murdered. I’d like to see Reid explain that to the public five months before a national election.
It’s up to the House of Representatives to start impeachment proceedings, which can be introduced by any member, regardless of what the Speaker has to say about it. Once articles of impeachment are brought to the floor, no other business can be conducted until they are voted on, and it only takes a simple majority to vote to impeach. Once that is done, the Senate must hold the trial. Reid cannot obstruct it or refuse to do it. And even though there isn’t a cat’s chance in a fire that the Senate will convict any of BamBam’s administration, including Bam himself, the process itself would prove instructive and reassuring to an extremely disenchanted and bitter public, and might lead to some knowledge of where the bodies are buried. Unfortunately, Boehner has already said that holding people accountable in this manner is not part of his message; the rest of the GOP will follow his lead, and of course no Dem will make a move against any Dem official. So here we are.
The House should impeach Holder. Of course it won’t go anywhere in the Senate, but it will force the press to give Fast and Furious the coverage it should have been getting a year ago. And with a US border patrol agent dead, and 2000 dead in Mexico the press can’t paint the impeachment as politics or just about sex.
Listening to Holder’s response and Leahy’s defense, (Bush did it and Holder cleaned it up) I got the impression that Holder’s whole line of commentary was rehearsed because it had nothing whatever to do with what Cornyn said (other than to lamely declare ‘it aint so’ and accuse him of playing politics – hullo?). It’s like he slept through Cornyn’s comments and did not respond to any of it. It’s disturbing to watch anybody from the Obama administration respond to anybody in a conversation. Their comments are seldom more than remotely related to the comment and/or question directed at them.
I suspect they expect the media to quote them verbatim, followed by a mischaracterization of what the other person said. Surreal and disturbing…
Impeach Holder! The Fast and Furious debacle plus his refusal to prosecute the previous administration’s war crimes or the bank’s massive financial frauds are truly disgusting and likely criminal. Impeach Holder now.
