Iran Media: Obama Just Said Those Things for Jewish Votes

Iranian media reported after President Obama’s speech to AIPAC today that he renewed his commitment to Israel “despite atrocities” and said the things he did to secure the Jewish vote in November.

Iran Press TV focused not on Obama’s Iran comments, but on the first part of his speech where he said that his actions, not words, have confirmed his commitment to Israel.

“Referring to Israel’s atrocities during its 22-day war on Gaza, Obama said that the US defended Israel against the Goldstone report, which accused Tel Aviv of war crimes against Gazans,” Press TV reported.

The state-owned media corporation headlined with Obama’s quote, “When the chips are down, I have Israel’s back.”

“The speech at the American Israel Public Affairs Conference, a pro-Israeli lobby group, is pivotal for Obama to keep Jewish voters happy in his 2012 reelection bid,” Press TV stated.

The site also highlighted quotes by Noam Chomsky stating that the U.S. and Israel are seen by the world as greater threats than Iran.
