Seattle libraries will not allow patrons to eat or sleep or go barefoot. But they can watch all the hardcore porn they want in front of children.
Seattle PI reported:The Seattle Public Library has a long list of rules of things you can’t do in the library, to ensure “comfort and safety” of staff and patrons. You can’t eat, sleep, look like you’re sleeping, be barefoot, be too stinky or talk too loudly.
But you can watch graphic porn on a public computer in front of kids. Despite repeated complaints from female patrons about men watching porn in full view of their children, the library has held fast to its policy of unfettered online access for grown-ups.
The reason: It’s not in the business of censorship.
What a comfort it is to know that my nieces who live there will not have to be subjected to an offensively snoring hobo but can get a free shot of “The Whoring Hobo” from an unemployed perv who can’t afford wi-fi.
The sad thing about this twisted logic is that those making this decision are probably convinced that they’re proud champions of a “right”. There are a variety of things that can’t be done in public because they are deemed indecent. It’s not censorship, it’s a byproduct of civilization.
The Seattle Public Library’s website features a section titled “Audiences”. The first two on the list are “Children” and “Teens”.
Protecting rights. Preying on children. Who can tell the difference anymore?
Telling people what they can or cant read in the library is censorship. In the case of porn when children are around, justifiable censorship. My list of things that should be censored has a few items on it. Well, actually just one, and this is it. It was not on there before because it never occured to me that anyone would actually do that.
Isn’t it considered indecency for an adult to show pr)n to a minor? If it’s a crime outside a library, why isn’t a crime inside a library?
That’s a different question. It may be a crime (and maybe complaining parents should call 911), but the library doesn’t want to enforce it.
Similarly, schools don’t enforce these days, either. They call the cops when some kid would get the hack board in the old days.

Apparently few people in deep-blue Seattle can.

Back when America was a great nation any pervert pulling something like that would have been beaten bloody by the parents and no one would complain but the creep. The cops would tell him to shut or give him worse.
Now we lift up perverts as heroes. Our laws defend their pride in doing evil. We deserve everything coming our way. The Great Whore Babylon is us.
Liberals eat their own children. Those they didn’t abort. Conservatives get to clean up the mess. But we’re not allowed to remove the parasitic problem permanently. Soon enough, though, soon enough…
