Michelle Obama Spams Me with a Come-On

Is it just me, or is this email pitch from the Obama campaign a just little bit creepy? Click to embiggen.

If you can’t read the screen grab, the email is subbed “Sometime soon, I want to meet you.” In my iGoogle inbox, the sender was simply “Michelle,” no last name until I clicked on the actual message, expecting to find that one of my friends named Michelle had been hacked, or something equally nefarious and spammy had happened.

The rest of the text reads:

Friend —

I’m excited for the chance to meet you and whoever you decide to bring to dinner.

I really hope you give this a shot.

I honestly can’t imagine any previous FLOTUS or any previous presidential incumbent sending out such an odd mass email.
