What Time is It, Kids? It's Dominque Strauss-Kahn Orgy With Prostitutes Time

Back in the day, after school, hundreds of thousands of boys and girls were allowed to watch a wildly popular television program that began with these words, “What time is is, kids?”  to which the studio audience of boys and girls would shout, “It’s Howdy Doody time.”

The Telegraph‘s Henry Samuels reports from Paris this afternoon after school that our favorite “rutting chimpanzee” has been at it again!  Hard to believe, huh?  Who would have thought that DSK could sink even deeper into the slime his mere monogram evokes in the minds of readers everywhere?  And yet, here’s the latest:

French press reports cited several unnamed sources as claiming prostitutes travelled to New York from France late last year and in May for sex sessions with the former International Monetary Fund chief…

“According to certain sources, prostitutes allegedly flew to New York ‘late 2010’, and even ‘May 2011’,” according to France Soir newspaper.

“Police are now looking at airline bookings made at the time to verify these elements,” it wrote.

Well, the inspecteurs  shouldn’t take long to “verify these elements.”

Le Journal du Dimanche, a Sunday newspaper, said that prostitutes working for the network had several times travelled to New York, and that inspectors believed Mr Strauss-Kahn may have used their services when he was based in the US.

He denied all allegations on Sunday, saying that he wished to be questioned as “quickly as possible to end the malevolent insinuations”.

“Malevolent insinuations”? Who does he think he is?  The Dalai Lama?  Some holy man come down from the mountaintop where he’s spent the past fifty years chanting his mantra to the silent vapors of the Himalayas?

And then, just when you thought it was a fairly straightforward case of Struss-Kahn in an orgy of French prostitutes in New York and Washington, the plot thickens.  How?  There’s a second Dominique involved here. And, like DSK, he’s also 62.  I know.  What are the chances?

Investigators claim that the prostitutes were recruited by Dominique Alderweireld, 62, a nightclub owner who is under arrest in Belgium. He denies the allegation.

One of those cited was Lille urban security police chief Jean-Christophe Lagarde, said to be close to Mr Strauss-Kahn, who consulted him about security matters when he still hoped to run for French president.

Detectives, it is claimed, suspect Mr Lagarde of organising orgies, but on Tuesday, he said he had committed “no crime” in a statement.

David Roquet, a local businessman, was on Tuesday claimed by Le Figaro to have told detectives he had met prostitutes with Mr Strauss-Kahn at a luxury hotel in Paris in late 2010. Mr Roquet was arrested last week and placed under investigation for “aggravated pimping”. Mr Roquet denies the charge of providing women for sex.

One prostitute has also allegedly told police that she was paid £500 to attend an orgy with a “prominent political figure” in Paris in the spring of 2010.

France Soir claimed the politician in question was Mr Strauss-Kahn.

Tiens!  You don’t say.  Who’d have thunk?

Mr Roquet is quoted as claiming he travelled twice to the US with Mr Lagarde and a lawyer also under investigation – once to Washington and once to New York – “on the invitation” of Mr Strauss-Kahn.

The latest scandal has erupted less than a week after Mr Strauss-Kahn learned he will not face charges for sexually assaulting writer Tristane Banon in Paris 2003 because the time limit for prosecution has expired.

Five senior officers were questioned last week over the case. They are accused of providing women for sex, which carries a sentence of up to ten years.

They deny this, but told investigators that they were clients of the prostitutes.

As Scarlett O’Hara liked to say, “Tomorrow is another day.”  Will the sun set on the shimmering girders of the Eiffel Tower on Wednesday without yet another twist and turn in the saga of the sexual predations of Dominique Strauss-Kahn?  I wouldn’t bet on it.
