Obama Preparing to Throw Someone Under the Bus

President Barack Obama will be on ABC’s Nightline with Jake Tapper tonight to discuss Operation Fast and Furious.

According to ABC News, Obama has said people will be held accountable:

As the Justice Department investigates how U.S. guns were allowed to flow illicitly into Mexico under the watchful eyes of federal agents, President Obama said today in an exclusive interview with ABC News that “people who have screwed up will be held accountable.”

Really Mr. President? Like the Attorney General who lied to Congress about what he knew when? How about ATF Special Agent William Newell who said his testimony “Lacked completeness?” How about the aides in your own White House who were aware of the program?

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Obama and other senior members of his administration were aware of the program. With today’s unanimous vote on an amendment to a bill which would deny funding to any future programs like this, even the Democrats in Congress are appalled by this criminally stupid operation. It allowed thousands of firearms into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels and led directly to the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

It would seem Obama is preparing to throw someone under the bus in an attempt to save his own skin. The only candidate who might get that done is Eric Holder himself. But as ABC News noted,  just a few days ago Obama expressed confidence in Holder:

“I have complete confidence in him, and I’ve got complete confidence in the process to figure out who, in fact, was responsible for that decision and how it got made,” Obama said at a news conference Oct. 6.

No idea how this is all going to shake out, stay tuned for details.
