Ron Paul: I Would Consider Adding Dennis Kucinich to my Cabinet

Well, if this doesn’t cost RON PAUL his last shot at the GOP nomination, then nothing will.

Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) says he would consider putting the liberal congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) in his Cabinet if he wins the presidency in 2012.

Paul said his libertarian political philosophy helps him connect with some on the far left — including Kucinich, who shares Paul’s general anti-war stance.

Paul joked that if he brought the Ohio congressman aboard in his administration, he might have to create a “Department of Peace.”

“You’ve got to give credit to people who think,” he said.

Yeah. You might want to take into account what people think while you’re at it. Both Paul and Kucinich belong to the “blame America first” crowd, and both flirt with 9-11 Trutherism. That Department of Peace stuff isn’t a joke, either. Kucinich actually wants to do away with or at least drastically downscale the Department of Defense and replace it with a “Department of Peace” (presumably, abbreviated as DOPe). For reals.

Fortunately, Osama bin Laden couldn’t be reached for comment on that idea.

But…RON PAUL.
