Scandalous Obama DOJ Official Departs

Julie Fernandes, the scandal plagued Deputy Assistant Attorney General, is resigning from the Justice Department.  Fernandes, you will recall, is the person covered here and here and here at Pajamas who gave corrupt instructions not to enforce Section 8 of Motor Voter that requires states to remove dead and ineligible felons from the voter rolls.  She also made statements that this Justice Department isn’t interested in enforcing the law to protect all voters from discrimination, only some.  Her resignation announcement which I have obtained from a DOJ source:

Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes will be leaving in the beginning of September to become the Director of the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST), a coalition of U.S.-based anti-slavery organizations dedicated to developing and advancing a national policy agenda for abolishing slavery and human trafficking in the U.S. and around the world. ATEST is a project of Humanity United, a human rights foundation focused on ending genocide and modern-day slavery. Throughout her tenure in the Division, Julie has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to protecting and promoting civil rights, and ATEST will be well served by her considerable talents. I am appreciative of her hard work and dedication over the last two years, and I congratulate her on her exciting new role.

Obviously Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez stands by Fernandes despite the controversy.
