His assassin may have robbed us of more than a great musician. But am I crazy &amp;#8212; I&amp;#8217;ve always seen two major Beatles songs as very strong conservative statements, and counter-counter-cultural ones at that. &amp;#8220;Taxman&amp;#8221; is an obvious rip on the grasping leviathan state. &amp;#8220;Declare the pennies on your eyes&amp;#8221; hits estate taxes, while &amp;#8220;You&amp;#8217;re working for no one but me&amp;#8221; speaks for itself. The entire song could describe the Club for Growth&amp;#8217;s reason to exist. It&amp;#8217;s even bipartisan, so the Tea Party could use it as a platform. And &amp;#8220;Revolution,&amp;#8221; arguably the gutsiest rock song of the 1960s, slams hippies for being wild-eyed dopes who don&amp;#8217;t really understand what they&amp;#8217;re demanding.
