AP catches up to PJM on Somali terrorists smuggled into US

Yesterday the Associated Press published a story, “Feds think man aided terror suspects through Texas,” citing government documents in a current federal court proceeding against a suspected terrorist operative who smuggled Somali terrorists into the U.S.:

Federal officials believe members of East African terrorist groups sneaked into the U.S. after a Somali man now in custody helped them get through Mexico and Texas, according to a newspaper report.

A Justice Department memo and other documents obtained by the San Antonio Express-News said federal authorities believe that Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane helped “violent jihadists” slip across the border, but they don’t know where they are now.

Does any of this sound familiar? It should if you’re a regular Pajamas Media reader since I broke the story here last week.

Cheers to the AP and the San Antonio Express-News for catching up to us in less than a week, but jeers to the AP for failing to mention who broke the story and exactly where they obtained the court documents. The government sentencing memorandum in the case that we provided first to PJM readers can be found here.
