Obama reminds Democrats of his overwhelming awesomeness

Really, I don’t stop often enough to remind myself to be grateful that we have a president named Barack Obama. I pity myself for that failure.

“The first time around it’s like lightning in a bottle. There’s something special about it, because you’re defying the odds. And as time passes, you start taking it for granted that a guy named Barack Hussein Obama is president of the United States,” Obama said. “But we should never take it for granted.”

“I hope that all of you still feel that sense of excitement and that sense of possibility, because we still have so much more to do.”

I still feel a sense of excitement all right. A sense that, for the first time in my adult life, I suspect that the president is actively trying to make me pay more for gas. That the president really is out to hurt my state.  That the president may really pick the NCAA tournament winner, while the world burns down around him. Exciting! Lightning in a bottle!
