Ah, a cooler head prevails in Indiana

I see via blogger Dan Riehl that Gov. Mitch Daniels is not behaving in like manner to that gauche former county executive, Scott Walker. Bravissimo!

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) signaled that Republicans “should to drop the right-to-work bill that has brought the Indiana House to a standstill for two days and imperiled other measures,” the Indianapolis Star reports.

Daniels told reporters that “he expects House Democrats will return to work if the bill dies. It would be unfortunate if other bills are caught up in the turmoil, he said.”

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! Gov. Daniels also said that unlike that Wisconsin governor, he will not send out the state police to round up the Democrats who have fled his state. Again I say, yes! We respectable conservatives would never be able to hold our heads high on the cocktail circuit if all of our governors actually do the radical things they campaign on.  No, no, mustn’t have that.  ‘Tis better that the unions win, since they’re not so bad as all that anyway and let’s face it — they always win —  than for us to sully ourselves opposing them. We must all stand together and be as vague as possible so as not to upset anyone. At all. Ever. So thank you, Mitch Daniels! You have given us respectable conservatives a reason for good cheer and optimism.
