That one person can accommodate both appears coherent to me: they are consistent with a belief in the existence of sinister groups which have the power to orchestrate history. This is a bit of magical thinking – a phenomenon to which we are all vulnerable to some degree. It’s just that some beliefs are more dangerous than others. All they have to fall back on is the purity of their own beings, while those that turn them into sinister beings are merely looking at their own reflections in a dark mirror.
