I appreciate all the profound and intelligent comments on Vietnam.

Today, one of Ayers’ rationalizations/justifications for promoting of all those (bombing and other) exploits in the late 60′s and early 70′s is that “we were opposing an unjust war.”

This is somewhat of a fabrication, like everything else about Bill Ayers. As a good radical Marxist adherent, his real mission was “opposing” the decadent, bourgeois, middle class, capitalist society in which he found himself living.

When the dope smoke cleared and the LSD wore off temporarily, that was the “vision” Bill Ayers was looking at through the haze of his mind.

(ultimately, of course, Ayers’ real mission, like would be revolutionaries everywhere, was his own power trip/ego)

Since police stations were among the Weather Underground’s targets, it is ironic as hell that, a month or so ago, Ayers phoned the police when the Foxnews producer showed up at his house. And the police came at the request of this “private citizen” who’d (somewhat frantically) told the Fox producer he was on “private property” !
