#32 BC – I do give him credit, but these are the same things Bush was propounding, an increase in forces as Iraq winds down. This was set in motion by the renewed SoF agreement in Iraq. Bush would’ve sent all 5 requested brigades. McChrystal asked for 90K more troops with a minimum of 40K more. He got 30K. He shouldn’t've set a minimum. He then would’ve gotten 45K.

#41 BC – This is a copout. It’s not boasting to tell us he sent more than we thought. He’s our CinC. No stealth commanding. We should know as a matter of fact. If he’s committing more, he should tell us… but that would alienate his base. Can’t have any of that! CinC is part of the job, the most important part, so DO that part, however distasteful you might find it.
