The Bible endorses capitalism, with a few rules attached: 1. We are to reach into our own pockets and give a minimum of one-tenth of our income for the purposes of caring for the poor, widows, orphans, disabled people and clergy. 2. People must conduct commerce and trade honestly, giving a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work, and giving the correct, usable goods and services for the agreed upon price. 3. Families are expected to help each other out. If a family member is in need, and you have extra, you are expected to aid your relative. 4. People cannot be harassed about debts forever. While we no longer practice the jubilee system for forgiveness of debts, we at least require that all debts be settled in probate. You can seize the estate of a dead man for the payment of his debts, but you may not pursue his heirs to pay the balance- they have no legal or moral obligation to pay it. 4. In all our affairs, give glory to God, who has blessed us with reward for our labors and a body capable of working.
