But once again, I must ask this question: why was Joe McCarthy almost single handedly fighting the good fight? Schlesinger Jr's disgraceful shabby scholarship regarding the Great Depression has caused enormous damage. The dumb argument that FDR "saved capitalism" is still widely held.
