Obama was not elected based on a platform. He appealed to all who wanted to feel the moral superiority of having voted for an “Halfrican-American”.

Again, that’s just from this one post. Wan to go bigger? Listen to Rush and Hannity and Levin and the rest. They are uniformly and relentlessly bashing everything Obama says or does, many times before he says or does it. Yeah, that’s some mighty respect. Guess that high ground’s gonna remain juuuust out of reach. Too bad, it really was your only chance – mend your rotten ways and join the human race, exhibit a little humility, take a little responsibility. Apparently you prefer to stay with that “greed, incompetence and arrogance” martyrdom platform that got you kicked out the last two elections. Good luck with that.

Now it’s even worse, in that they have control over security, and are only very reluctantly embracing the notion of “keeping us safe.”

Horowitz and you are right: the birth certificate junk and other examples of nutcase invective are unacceptable. But then you both immediately talk past everyone who wants to have a say governing their country – all of us know that foreign policy isn’t really a place we have a say. All the protests about torture didn’t stop a thing until an election. You’re both talking to the Beltway elite without knowing it.

You need another notion of partisanship in order to advance your call for moderation. You need something that engages those who – rightly – see the world crumbling around them, and see Leftists and anarchists in control as the advent of the last man. Just because we should be moderate and give the benefit of the doubt doesn’t mean that our political opponents are a good thing: their politics are that of throwing a tantrum, blaming everyone else for everything, and bribing their constituents for votes. It’s very hard for many – esp. those taking bullets for this country as we speak – to conceive of what could be a bigger insult.

I agree with you. Why people would not research Barack Obama is beyond me? I did, and what I found was disturbing.

Many of the Independents that voted for him, are apparently having second thoughts and a type of hangover.

Adding to what you stated, Obama so-called autobiography was an attempt to remake himself politically and hide the truth, in the realm of Mein Kampft. Half-truths, lies, and omissions are rampant.

Father died in an accident, but never mentioned it was his 2nd one while intoxicated, the first one having caused the lost of his legs.

Less than candid on extensive drug use, etc, etc

Then of course his associations: “Tell me with whom you hangout and I will tell you who you are.”
