If you think the establishment of a permanent military base on a penninsula that has been at the heart of Eastern Asian power struggles for at least a thousand years, the establishment of favorable economic conditions which led to the development of the 11th largest economy in the world is a failure, and forging an alliance with a key trading partner is “failure” what the hell does success look like?
