Raising the debt ceiling has nothing to do with the budget; it was necessary to pay bills ALREADY APPROVED by Congress. Ronald Reagan did it 18 times while he nearly tripled the government debt.
Teabaggers were determined to hurt other Americans by threatening to upset the economy, and they succeeded. The negative repercussions of their actions are just beginning.
It has nothing to do with wanting a balanced budget, and you know it. There was no outcry from these people while Dubya was overspending and running up the deficit. Republicans happily voted to raise the debt ceiling 7 times during those years.
The rest of us see it for what it is: a terrorist act perpetrated by a group of people who can’t accept the fact that we have a black President. The GOP admitted last year that their goal is to get Obama out of office. They’ve done nothing to create jobs since they’ve had control of the House of Representatives, but have continued to cater to the rich.
We’re tired of Teabaggery. It was amusing for a while, but it’s no longer funny when the extremists’ antics affect us financially.
